Reservation Change Question

Hello all. So I have a question. I am going to Disney over winter break with a few of my friends from college. It looks like one is going to bail on me and it will be difficult finding a replacement. Can I remove one from the hotel reservation and have my price adjusted? Any help would be great. Thanks.

If you're paying extra to have that person in the room (as in an extra charge for more than 2 adults in the room) yes you can. Call Disney, they will modify your reservation, removing the extra person and adjusting the amount owing. If it is paid in full, they should refund the amount of the extra person. This is provided you are making the change far enough in advance that they won't charge you the change fee.

Be aware that there may be a change fee for removing them.

If you have a Room Only reservation, you'll be fine because I think the fees only start applying 5 days before your checkin date (and changed may even be able to be made right up until you actually check in, I couldn't find anything outlined in the terms)

If you booked a Vacation Package, then a $50 change fee will apply if you make the change less than 45 days before your checkin date.

They are quite inconsistent in charging this fee....

Depends on what the change is.

As a courtesy, if a change will *increase* the overall price of a package (like adding additional days, adding an additional person, upgrading to a more expensive room or resort) they waive the change fee. That's why I only book people who are *definitely* going when my friends and I go. It's easier to add someone to a reservation later on than it is to take them off.
