My wife and I will be leaving in three days for Disney World :sohappy:

Anyway I've heard of people contacting resorts ahead of time to make room requests. How is this done?:veryconfu

We'll be staying at Wilderness Lodge with a courtyard view. Anyone have any recommendations? We'll be staying for a week from the 21st through 28th.

You can call (407-824-3200) OR FAX (407-824-3232) the Wilderness Lodge with your requests. This is usually done 3 - 5 days prior so I would do it today.

I don't know a particular room number to request . You can ask for smoking or non-smoking, 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, or a queen and a set of bunk beds, a location close to an elevator, upper or lower floor, close to lobby, quiet room, corner room etc. It just depends on what your preferences are. The room controller is the best one to determine a room for you based on your requests.

Good luck!

The Courtyard view is the best view at WL. I would suggest that you get a room on the second floor or higher so that you can look down on the waterfall etc.

I don't know about specifics...but we got exactly what we asked for when I called the day of our arrival after contacting them about 4 days prior to our trip! But we were arriving very late that night with 5 kids in tow so I wanted to make sure we weren't miles away from everything! Good luck, have a great time and say HI to Mickey for us!

You can ask for smoking or non-smoking,

this still bugs me...to me, this sort of thing should not be just a request...it should be required that when a person asks for smoking or non-smoking that they get what they want....there's so many reasons why someone could be asking for a non-smoking room....maybe they, like me, are not around smokers too much and hate the smell of it (i don't know about anybody else but i get in a bad mood when i smell like smoke, and it just completely ruins my day...i just feel dirty and grimey) or worse yet, they could be allergic to tobacco smoke! we've been lucky enough to get non-smoking all 13 trips...so far. if they ever try to give me a smoking room, i'm sorry, but i will not leave guest relations until they give me a non-smoking...that's just one of those things that i refuse to give into easily, you know?

I agree 100%. I don't smoke, and always request a non-smoking room, but we have been given a smoking room several times. Each time, we went to the room to give it a try but the smell was overpowering. What about people who are allergic to or have respiratory propblems?

Each time we got a smoking room, we went back downstairs and complained. Most times it was, smoothed over pretty quickly, but the Yacht Club was the worst. They gave us a room three different times, and each time it was smoking room. :brick:

Things didin't improve until I asked for the name and address of whoever the VP was in charge of all the resorts, that person's address, and a place I could connect my laptop to a printer and print the letter telling him/her how disappointed we were. (I figure three tries is good enough. If they can't fix it in three tries, they aren't going to,)

However, after that request, we got a non-smoking room.

I know how you feel. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and have asthma. I haven't heard of anyone ever not getting the specific smoking or non-smoking room that they requested. Disney seems to be on the ball with this one.

Disney will do their best to accomodate your room requests. However, if it is requested for medical reasons, such as asthma, you can get the non-smoking room guaranteed.

When my wife and I went to Wilderness Lodge, we had a "woodland view" room. When we got there, all we could see from our balcony was the roof of the building where it jutted up in front of us! We could have climbed from our balcony straight on to the roof!

We still had a great time and loved WL. There's too much to do to spend time looking out your room anyways.
