Requesting a specific room at Pop...

Me again, with another question. Now that our family trip is at 56 days away my mind is beginning to wander in so many different directions. We will be at Pop during a non-peek time, right after Spring Break. My DW and I have booked the Preferred Pool View and want to make sure we are at least on the 3rd floor (don't want little kiddos wandering off near the pool). When would be a good time to request this and make sure we get what we want? Or is this just luck of the draw?

I'd put in the request right now. Call them up and have it added. There is no way to "make sure we get what we want". But I have yet to be denied the special requests that I have put in.

I put in a request for a particular room at the POLY. it was not guaranteed of course, and we didn't get what we wanted. It was a bit disappointing. But, I have never paid for a "preferred" room. I have made requests at check-in. It is a bit hit or miss, but worth the try. Disney usually does their best to honor guest requests.

I just spoke to WDW reservations about a similar issue yesterday and they said room assignments don't get locked in until about a week before your arrival. Our request is to be close to my brother and his family and the person I spoke to gave this type of request some sort of name, like traveling together request or something like that, and he said there was a pretty good chance that we would be close. I just didn't have my brothers reservation number so I need to call back now that I have it and they will link them. Hope you get what you request.

I would call and make your request right away. Its true rooms are not assigned till right before but when filling the request they look at who booked first and made requests first.
