Mostly the bands worked fine we had two problems with the room entry.
My DH's band stopped working but as every other band and card were working this was not a problem. It only took a few minutes at the front desk to get the problem fixed.
Then 2 days before we checked out the room entry didn't work again. I was bringing my 2 yo back to the room for a nap and I had 2 bands and 3 KTTW cards with me - none worked. We couldn't get in our room. I we especially stressed as I needed to get him down soon before he crossed over into the over tired zone and became hyper and didn't nap at all. There was a housekeeper nearby who was able to call a manager to help me. Once we got to the front desk to get it sorted out it turned out every band and card but my DH original band that had he issue and was fixed didn't work.
As for using FP+ and gate entry we had no problems. We had 3 FP+ picked per day but because of the time of year most weren't needed. TSMM, Soarin' and Test Track were the only rides we saw over 30 minutes the whole trip and they were at over and hour. We used FP+ choices at rides anyway since we had them and switching them was pointless since all the lines were fairly short.
Twice I tried using the MDX app to change our FP+ times but I would get error messages every step of the way making it almost useless. Thankfully with the low crowds it wasn't a big deal.
The one FP+ issue we had was at Fantasmic. We were there about 15 minutes before show time and knew we would be towards the back of the FP+ section because of this. Everything started out fine with the FP+ and DP guests going through a different line but after the second check point it's a free for all going into the actual theater.
The CMs at the Dining and FP+ sections were not even checking to see if people should be in that section. We were turned away from the section and told it was full. I put my foot down and said we were there in the window given by Disney for the FP+ and we were told we would have a seat. The CM told us I was welcome to look and we easily found a seats for at least 8 people a few rows down. There were other empty spots as well. It seemed to me a staffing issue if they had a couple other CMs to have people slide into the center or find people coming towards the end of the seating window seats it would have solved the seating issue. I feel bad if anyone was turned away when there were seats available
The BOG FP for lunch worked great we got a few dirty looks from people standing in line though when we were sent to the front of the line.
