Renting wheelchairs

I may have a need to rent a wheelchair during our Disney trip. Do the resorts rent them...and do you get to use them for the parks? Or do you have to rent them at each park?

You can get a wheel chair that someone pushes at the resort you check into. they just take your credit card info and charge it but it gets reimbursed when you return the chair. they only charge if its not returned. Just be known they don't have that many, or you can get a chair at the entrance to any of the parks. those are powered. only thing is your not allowed to take them out of the park. hope this helps:wave:

Thank you...

It's not known whether I'll need one until the trip...but I guess I can let the resort know...just in case

Also, the ones you get at the resort can be used anywhere you go throughout disney , theres no limitations for them. but their the push ones. the powered ones are the ones you get at the parks. the ones at the parks require i think 60 bucks for the day.

oh god trying to get through a crowd with a chair is nuts. especially after parades, or wishes or any fireworks shows. just try and stay to the sides sometimes that helps, but you get on the buses and monorails first, same with the rides. they also have designated spots to see parades and fireworks for people in wheel chairs. my mother has very bad legs and can barely walk ten steps without having to sit. and if you need a chair anywhere its disney. shed never be able to do it without one. cow pushers, no. lol, a horn would help. most people are considerate when they see people in chairs.

My mom has a bad hip and we just rented a motorized on in March. If you park in a handicap lot, there are push wheelchairs there that you can take from the lot to inside the park, then once inside the park, you can rent a motorized one. I believe they were $35-$40 plus an $8 refundable fee. It was well worth it for mom.

Many people think if you rent them, you get to the front of the rides. This is mostly not true. We found this true on the older rides, but not the newer ones. Mom wasn't the greatest driver tho..she crashed into a lot of poles..LOL..and stalled out a lot. She did not want me to have to push her, so the motorized one was the way to go.
