Renting question

So my family has recently rented points for an August trip. We realized that my name is spelt wrong on the reservation, therefore I can't be linked to my Disney experience. We're also looking to add 2 more friends who are coming with us. When we called up the vacation club agent refused to speak to us because we aren't on the deed... Even tho we have the reservation number in our name. Any tips? Will we have to call up the woman we bought from? We are also looking to add the meal plan eventually. Can this be done calling the regular Disney number or will we have to go through the same process? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, the person you're renting from has to add the dining plan for you. And they have to pay for it, with you reimbursing them. One of the risks of renting points, because you really need to trust them.
