Renting house off property?

Hi All!

We are currently planning our trip for May 2019 and are considering staying off property to keep costs low. Has anyone ever rented a house close to Disney? Any suggestions on companies to use to rent and which town is better? Kissimmee vs. Lake Buena Vista?

Use AirBnB, I have never had an issue! The prices are great, and especially in the Orlando area there is a ton of places to stay. PM me I can send you a discount code.

Absolutely. We used HomeAway(hope its okay to post that) and it was AWESOME! We got a 3/2 house with a private pool. Cost was $85 a night. Yeah, that's eighty-five a night. Can't beat that. It was right off of Siesta Lago Drive, so it was only about a 10 minutes drive to WDW property, that's including traffic. It was so nice having plenty of room for everyone and with us having infants, the washer/dryer was a real gift.

If you do a Google Maps search, look for Brittany Lane in Kissimmee. That's where we were.

We are staying off property for the first time in June. Kept costs down for a family trip of 7. Have a question in regards to magic band and purchases. Staying on property was easy just swiped the band and billed to our card. Does the same ability apply even though off property? Does pass holder make a difference? Thanks for any info

No. you can get a band for your tickets, faspasses, etc, but you must stay at a Disney resort to get charging privileges.

A related question to this topic:
I know that All-Star Vacation Homes (which was an occasional sponsor of a couple Disney websites and podcasts) has gone out of business. Does anyone know what other company/companies have picked up the managing of their properties? They had quite a large range of houses available.
