Renting DVC Points?

Hello to all. I have just registered recently, but have been reading the forums for almost a year. Thanks to Steve and all the members for such a great site!

We are thinking of renting DVC points from a member for an upcoming trip. It seems like this gives you a better rate than any of the discount codes.

Has anyone else here done this? How was your experience? Any advice or pitfalls to watch out for?

Hi and welcome. We have never rented points, since we are DVC members, but yes it is a good idea and way to save points. For example it is 28 points a night for a one bedroom for BCV in May, for 10 a point that would be 280 a night, and the room normally goes for over 500 a night. (also no tax!) Beware, points double for weekends so you might want to do cash then or change rooms.

It is not as good of a deal if you use the points for Disney resorts that are not DVC. (Poly or GF or any of the mod).
