Renting a car

I always drive to disney but this trip will also include 5 other family members and my dads electric scooter and we all like to avoid the hustle and bustle lets say of using the buses, plus 2 family members have a really tough time with getting car sick on them. We've decided to use my car and rent a truck/suv to accommodate what my car won't hold and the scooter. I saw there is the ability to pick up and drop off at the dolphin so we're doing that. My question is how do you go about getting the rental returned when you have an early magic express pick up? We have plans through the end of the evening the night before they leave which will just leave myself and my 10 y/o granddaughter to get the car back if they can't help me.

So those who have done rentals what's worked best for you to get it back without giving up a bunch of park time?

Unless I'm not understanding your post, I believe you've answered your own question ?
If you can Pick Up and Drop Off at the Dolphin, doesn't that imply you can return it there at the end of your rental agreement ?
Or are you asking about getting it to the Dolphin without wasting park time ?

Can you drop off the car the day/night before they leave? Then you can just take a Disney bus to whatever park you're going to for the rest of that day.

We rent a car just so that we can skip that awful and boring ride to the resort on ME. I say rent the car from the airport, and return it there when you're done. It will save you a ton of time getting to WDW after your flight.

I'm not flying I drive with just myself and my granddaughter, everybody else flies in and I'm the one paying for the rental so that's the blip but if the dolphin will take the car back outside of the normal hours I think that will work for us. We'll just finish the park friday night, drop everybody at the resort then there will still be another adult with me to take it back.

I've done this as well, very easy and no hassles at all.

The only downside is that if there's anything you need to do regarding changing payment types or anything like that, the valet can't do that. But if there's no need to do anything that would require a visit to the desk, you just drop it off, hand over the keys, get a receipt and go.

Have you compared the cost of the rentals? You may (or may not) find considerable savings booking at the airport, or one of the DTD hotels. They do have key slots where you would return the keys, much as how you would to the valet, you just don't get a receipt in that scenario.
