Rental Cars

Alamo's rates seem to be the cheapest at OIA. I used a Wal Mart discount code and e-coupon and got an SUV for 8 days for $126. Check out www.mousesavers.com You will find discount codes for each of the major car rental companies.

I was also able to get a great deal at Alamo a couple of weeks ago when I was at WDW.

I'd previously booked a mid-sized car for $179 a week. But, about 3 days before I left for Orlando, I checked again and looked into the prepaid rate. I ended up getting a full-sized car for $129. A great deal! Just be sure to use a credit card that covers your insurance, or check with your insurance company to see if you're already covered for rental cars. That saves a ton of money.

We used DME and than got a car that I reserved from the Car Care Center through Alamo, we got an mini SUV (according to their site), for $99.00. The shuttle will pick you up, just call an hour before you want to be picked up and they will get you in front of your hotel.

I checked the price of getting a car at the airport and from Car Care and it was cheaper with Car Care. Saved me over $150

How do you book & get cars through the Car Care place? Also, where is it? Thanks for the tip

Tha Car Care Facility is located near the TTC. It is right next to the Exxon and Disney Transportation depot and is visable as you exit the TTC. According to Alamo's Website, the location is identified as Orlando - Walt Disney Car Care Cntr. (ORLR72).

Just a little word of warning if you plan on using Alamo at the airport, the wait to get your car is usually ridiculous. The last two times I've been there I saw at least 20-30 people in line to get their car. Its definitely the most popular option at MCO.

That was the only downside. I waited 30 minutes in line on a Saturday around 5:30 pm. Alamo had the longest line followed by Budget. National and L & M had no lines. A few people were waiting for Dollar and Avis. If you register at Alamo's website and pay ahead of time, I think you can just go straight to the parking deck and pick up your car. I had to wait in line because the website said that people using an e-coupon could not go straight to pick up their car.

If you are traveling with someone else, you may want to send them to wait in line while you wait for luggage.

How did you get the $99 rental

I am sorry, I am not familiar with all of the acronyms, how did you secure the 8 day SUV rental for $99, or $129.00? Thanks.

I got the deal through the Alamo website, it was just one of the vehicles listed for the days that we needed it for. It was cheaper than getting a car, so we went with the deal. We just got lucky.

The past two years we have used Payless. They are very good. We were able to upgrade to larger car, with very little extra cost. This year we got a Grand Caravan which gave us a little extra room. We had it for 9 days for around $300 or $400. I don't remember but can look it up.

We will use them again next year. We got in and out in less than 15 min. upon arrival. When we left the same in and out. They are very helpful. Everyone around us had issues but not us.

My parents used them some years ago, I thought I would give them a try.
