Rental Car

Hey peoples! My mom, my sister and I are planning another Contemporary trip for July. We expecting to stay 6-8 nights. We do not want to rent a car for the entire lenghth of our stay, and we are curious about whether there is a rental car company near by or on property that would bring us a car, (at the resort) and then possibly pick it back up before we leave. I know it may sound silly but has anyone heard of or know of such a thing? Thanks so much! :wave:

Alamo (formerly National) Car Rental has an office in WDW, by MK located in the AAA Car Care Center. I believe they can pick you up at your resort and drop you off. Also, some of the non-Disney owned resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd. may have a car rental counter inside (usually a smaller local company).

Based on past WDW trips, unless you are planning lots of things outside of Disney, you really do not need a rental car. The busses and monorails can get you anywhere and everywhere on property...and I know there are lots of one day tour busses to Universal and Seaworld.

But if you are planning to do things in Orlando and the nearby area, then you should get a car.

I Know if you make a reservation a shuttle will pick you up and take you to the area by the MK to pick up the car. I also know you must check as there are specific hours for pick up and drop off of the vehicle. I think they also had or maybe they still have an office at the Swan or Dolphin.

Thanks everyone! You all are very helpful. I rememer seeing the Car Care Center and I went to the Alamo website and got their number and some rates..we will call them this week. We wanted the car just to go shopping a few days..otherwise we wouldnt need it since we love walking to MK. :king:
