Rental Car or Ride Share 2021

Hi! We're heading to WDW soon and will be staying on site! I'd love to hear from people who have recently been to WDW. When traveling from park to park, would you recommend that we use a Ride Share (Uber, Lyft) or a Rental Car? We know that WDW has buses, boats, etc, but we'd like to also have another way to travel quickly. Thank you so much!

We do Rental car every time and love it, it gives us the freedom to come and go when we want to, it also allows us the option to use the sky liner and monorail when we want, the added cost is value to us, we also like to go to the outlets and get out of the bubble occasionally and this allows us too

Personally I'd either use Disney's transportation or ride share.
I absolutely would not spend the money (especially right now when rental cars cost 4x the price they usually do) on a rental car which you then also have to pay a resort parking fee for.

We always get a rental car while we're there...first reason is I HATE the feeling of not being in control...we have a car so IF the need arises, we can go off property for supplies...we usually stop on our way to Target & BJ's from the airport. The car is also great if we venture out for mini-golf (which there is no direct bus service to), or a meal at another resort. As far as on property goes, the bus service is just fine for us...an occasional hiccup, but they are usually great.

Ditto. I spent several months pricing out rental cars as an option for our upcoming (8.5-day) trip in August, and the cost was consistently prohibitive -- in the neighborhood of $100/day, plus an additional $25 or so per day for parking. In short, it was going to be over $1,000 simply to have a rental car at our disposal.

Since our stay is 4 nights onsite at Universal and 4 nights onsite at Disney (at the Dolphin, so no DME), we'll instead be doing a combination of a stretch limo (for our initial airport transfer -- shhh, don't tell the family, it's a surprise, none of them has ever ridden in one before!!!), a hired towncar (for the day we move from Universal to Disney), rideshares (for a planned jaunt to an escape room near Universal, and also back to the airport on our departure day), and free on-property transportation to go from our hotels to the parks at both resorts. The cost for all of it -- even after gratuities to all the drivers, and in spite of my limo splurge having added an extra $75 to the total -- will be less than $400.

Depends on your willingness to pay out more for the rental and parking fees but having the ability to drive yourself when and where you want to go. The freedom you get from having the car keys in your hands is worth it for some. Others dont enjoy driving around an area they arent familiar with. Or using Ride Share which will be cheaper but depending on when you contact a ride youll have to wait for them to arrive. When I'm on vacation I just prefer not to drive. On our most recent trip DS and I used a combo of Disney transportation and Uber and it worked to our advantage.
