Some may disagree with this change, but it is a great decision, in my opinion. I always take off the glasses during the physical scenes and put them back on during the screen scenes. Not ideal and it takes me out of the story. Getting brighter, clearer imagery as well as new props and lighting enhancements is a nice cherry on top as well.

It’s so great to see all this investment in upgrading and enhancing the attraction experience around the resort!

It makes sense honestly. A lot of people have complained of motion sickness on that attraction strictly related to the 3D. Going 2D will solve that.
I’m one of those people so I’m happy to see this change, my only fear is seeing things that weren’t meant to be seen, I remember riding the OG potter ride in 3D and then again in 2D and noticing a lot of things on the side I hadn’t noticed during my 3D rides, glasses focus our vision forward, without them I think our peripheral vision makes things more apparent. Hopefully they address this if necessary.

This is wonderful news! The ride is cute by shows its age with the blurry 3D. This is very exciting news!
That's not the ride; that's Disney's poor maintenance. It's annoying they can keep neglecting rides like this, only to be celebrated when they're replaced with worse versions.

The 3D is intrinsic to the ride experience. Removing it as stupid as it is removing it from King Kong.

This seems like a solution in search of a problem.

The problem is that maintenance costs money. The solution is to remove the Maintenance

The dumbing down of a ride is fantastic? Is having the equivalent of Runaway Railroad in Epcot really a good thing?

Why not fix the 3D projection? (Rhetorical questions because of course we all know why)
Wearing 3D glasses and fully immersing yourself in physical sets can’t coexist. If you’re like me and take off the 3D glasses during the physical scenes, there are moments when your mind is focused on your glasses rather than the show. For some, 3D also gives them motion sickness.

There is no “dumbing down” of the attraction’s story here. There is simply the substitution of one technology for another. We’re getting crisper, brighter projections, new props, and enhanced lighting effects. Dropping the 3D glasses creates a better experience for guests and I think you will agree after you experience the attraction without them.
