Of course that's only if you're standing west of mission space during launch correct? I would think that if you were over by Canada you would need to look towards China or something.

I can't wait! :sohappy: I should be able to see it go up from my back yard. I have only ever seen launches on tv. I am pretty excited to finally see one go up while in the state of FL.

Ok, so they restarted the countdown clock at T-minus 5 minutes at 4:48, so this launch will be about 3 minutes later than scheduled (if anyone is looking at this thread from a smartphone from the parks)

They're checking the tiles for damage now.

You're right -- they have video from the outside of the shuttle of tiles being ripped off the shuttle during take off just like what happened with the Columbia on takeoff. I hope that NASA has the wherewithal to find another way to get our guys home if there's any chance that the shuttle would break apart on re-entry.
