Hey Ya'll!
O.k., it may not be an old attraction but its something that will always be near my heart because that was my first job on the Disney College Program. I was assigned to the Mexico Pavilion and I told the Cast Member during my Discovery Day there (thats where they take new Cast Members on a tour of EPCOT and then show them were they will be working) that there must be a mistake because I am not from Mexico but they told me that I would be doing various jobs out of the Mexico Pavilion including Crowd Control/Security for the Tapestry of Nations Parade.

So I was in my costume (a multi-colored shirt with Flags of all the countries that are represented at the World Showcase; pants were former U.S. Navy dress white pants that Im guessing Disney got from military surplus...the tag inside said US Navy) and I really did not know what to expect on my first night so it went a little hectic but the rest of the time I did this job I had a blast and made so many friends from Mexico and with the parade performers.

I have the C.D. and every time I listen to it takes me back to 2001 when I worked there. This parade had great music and every one from the old to the young enjoyed the tall puppets and drum units. I wish EPCOT still had this parade. I was there when they narrowed the parade down to just going from Mexico to Morocco, of course that increased the amount of people where I was working which was Mexico, Norway, and China (it was like working a police beat because you got used to everyone working at the pavilions).

I would bow at the waist every time the Sage would come past me leading the parade. Hope this brings back memories to everyone and if anyone was at EPCOT during the first half of 2001 then you may have seen me :D.

I remember the parade - it was (and still is) one of Disneys best. The music was brilliant. Its a shame that it ended but even more upsetting is the fact that it was never replaced

It's definitely been my favorite Disney parade to date, tied or followed closely by SpectroMagic. The music was definitely the pull for me as well-- brilliantly written, never gets boring, keeps your ear entertained. Loved it!

Tapestry of Nations was definatly one of the most creative parades. The audience participation helped make it very popular. They still play the soundtrack at EPCOT closing.

It was always a running joke among our family that after eating around the "world" when someone would get an upset stomach we would all say...."Uh oh, here comes the tapestry of nations!"

Hehehe.
