I have been reading through some threads on this forum, hoping to find some answers. Most Status questions were geared toward CP experiences. I was never a CP so a lot of what was being said had nothing to do with my current situation. So, here's my story...
I was hired as PT Merchandise a couple of years ago. 6 months in, I was transferred to FT Security. I was loving life, loving my job. However, I was dealing with a few personal things back home (Tennessee). I moved to Florida to start a new life. My parents passed away. I needed a fresh start. A few months after celebrating my 1 year with the company, I was told that my grandmother was sick. I panicked. One night when I was scheduled to work, I just lost it. I didn't show up for work. I went into Access the next day, turned in my badge and blue ID, and I left. I drove home the following day. I realize now that not only did I abandon my job, I also was a no call/no show. Naturally, I was given a No Rehire Status.
Almost 2 years have passed since that night. My grandmother passed away. I've tried to Appeal the Status, but I was denied. What confused me was that even Casting was shocked it wasn't approved. Even my previous leaders were okay with me returning to the company. My original recruiter has been with me every step of the way since day 1 when I was hired. I still keep contact with him to do this. He continues to encourage me to fight.
What really bothers me is that I have read of other CM that have been re-hired for more serious offenses than mine: Stealing, Assault, crazy tweets... and yet, I'm standing here with tear stains on my shirt, begging for a chance - even if it's something like going back to Merchandise, Attractions... They don't have to give me Security again, though I'd love it.
So, I guess my question is.... what advice do you have for me? My recruiter said I could Appeal again next year (I've already tried this year).
