Okay, so I did the college program, but had to leave about a month early because of family issues (my dad was very sick and soon passed away). One of my managers was really kind and understanding, and he allowed me to leave on apparently good terms, and he also said he'd put me in as seasonal when I asked. Unfortunately I had a hard time that year dealing with things, etc., and just did not get the chance to get back down there to put in my seasonal hours. I assume I was silently "fired," if that is how you want to refer to it. Since the year mark I have not been able to log onto the cast portal anymore.
Anyway, if I can find housing arrangements, I was kind of thinking about trying to get rehired by Disney to work over winter break (for about five weeks). I know that there is generally a 6 month rehire waiting period, though, and I believe it'll be at about the 5 month mark from the date I probably got dropped from the system (my last day of my CP was mid-July 2006, so the year mark after that would be July 2007, and I'd be trying to get rehired in December 2007). Do you think I'd run into problems trying to get rehired? I have a friend who literally left his CP out of the blue, just stopped showing up to work and didn't even tell his managers he was quitting... and then he moved back down to FL about two months later and he got rehired by Disney, so I have some hope.
What should I do to find out? Call casting? Do you think getting in touch with my old manager might help? I don't want to work where I used to work if I go down there--I'd like to get rehired in a new role, but maybe he could help verify my situation with casting if need be?
