Refurbishments announced?

We always go to WDW the last week of January. Out of the last four years, Splash has been closed for 3 trips. I know they always close Splash in January but I'm hoping this coming January they might do the refurb a week sooner, so does anyone know when they usually announce the dates for refurbs like this?
I'm also nervous about the possibility of like half of Fantasyland being closed due to FLE, can anyone tell me if Philharmagic will be open? I think other than Mad Tea Party and Small World Philharmagic is the only FL ride we care too much about.
Thanks!

I hear ya :( - 3 out of our 5 trips it was closed & there usually plenty of other refurbs in Jan
I'm guessing they'll only post them sometime november but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and if we're lucky it'll go down right after new years

We went in February 2010 last trip and are going back this coming January and have also missed Splash for the past few years. I am hoping it hasn't shut yet, when we arrive January 6th.

I was just talking to my friend about this because we are either going in January 2011 or March 2011. I really would like to know everything that will be down at both these times so we can make up our minds on when to go

March will be much more crowded, but there will be less refurbs.

exactly what we are debating. I have done April break before so I don't think March will be much different(It would be the first week in March). I would love to go in January I just hate how so much is closed

Next year will be my first trip in Jan and other than Splash and Star Tours being down, I would like to know what else to expect.

I haven't be able to find much on this topic either.

I am far from an expert on the subject but the times we have been in January, the weather is a little chilly, (but much better than at home!) and a few rides are down but the wait times for most of the rides are far reduced feeling like you get much more time at the parks that is not spent/wasted standing and waiting! Sometimes the shows (i.e. Fantasmic!, ect and nighttime parades are limited to certain days so be sure to check and preplan which park to be in on which day if that is important.

My bf and I are getting there Jan 9th and staying till the 15th. I have been during March, June and July before but I'm not sure what to expect people and ride closure wise. I expect to see splash down which is disappointing and star tours and of course the FLE will be going on. It is the week after the marathon so hopefully there won't be too many people. If anyone else knows of anything else please inform me. I would rather find out now then when I am ready to jump in line for it and be denied.

As far as the Magic Kingdom goes, there are currently no major ride refurbishments scheduled for the week that you will be visiting. Note that I said currently, I would still check with WDW Guest Relations closer to your trip date in case anything changes. Also, always grab a times guide for each park when you arrive, because that will list anything that isn't currently operating.
