Wouldn't it be fun to give a refurbishment to all of our favorite Disney theme parks and resorts? I know parks like Hong Kong Disneyland and California Adventure are already slated for big makeovers, but wouldn't it be fun if we fed off those ideas and made the parks even better?

Well one thing I'd like to do is give Tokyo Disneyland's Fantasyland a big refurbishment. The thing that made me want to do it was this picture:

Haunted%20Mansion%200.jpg

Well it just looks a bit odd doesn't it?

Look at what we have here in Fantasyland; a beautiful castle and a fancy Dutch-colonial mansion. The rest of the land has fallen behind into the classic medieval jousting carnival look of the original Fantasyland at Disneyland.

So I think it's about time we give TDL's Fantasyland a beautiful new look which will match the look and feel of both the Haunted Mansion and Cinderella Castle.

fanta_map_rest.gif

They are already adding a Cinderella Castle walkthrough and Philhar Magic, so what else can we dc with the land?

Also I think Epcot and Hollywood Studios could use a refurbishment as well.

Any other ideas here all you people out there?

Hello MEW! It's DisneyParksFan from VF! Lolz. I have some ideas for DHS.

Okay for the Pixar Place it will be turned into a whole Pixar Land! Details...

Pixar Land

-A Bug's Land, You are shrunken to the size of a tiny bug here. This area will simply have next generation Meet and Greets like the ones in the FYL Expansion and a re themed Honey I Shrunk the Audience Play Area to a Bug theme.

-Monstropolis, Themed to the Monsters Inc. movie. Here you will be immersed in the theming as you stroll around the city of Monstropolis from Pixar's movie Monsters Inc. The focal point of the land will be Monsters Incorporated building which will house the indoor coaster themed to the door scene in the movie.

-Nomanisan Island, Themed to the island from The Incredibles. Here you will be allowed access by only crossing a bridge. You will be immersed in the theming and it will house a TTA-like attraction which lets you go through all the environments of the island. And there will also be a ride themed after the scene where Violet and Dash are trying to escape the Omnidroid (I think that's the scene) But anyway, it will be a thrill ride that reaches VERY high speeds. And with a stunning finale where you get to battle Omnidroid by confusing it and tangling its arms by running around it, etc.

-Toy Story Playland, pretty much enhanced theming, you're in Andy's backyard, and the facade for TSMM will be rethemed to a large game box called "Midway Mania". Apparently this is a new toy Andy got for his birthday and the green army men are trying to find out what it's about, and see if it's worthy of getting one of the other toys replaced.

Animation Courtyard

Pretty much the only new thing here is the theming, and a new musical themed after the Princess and the Frog to replace the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Lucasland(tentative name)

-Star Tours II, we know the details to this already, we'll just have some enhanced theming in that area, but that's all that's new there.

-Dinner/Lunch with George Lucas(tentative name), a restaurant ala Be Our Guest, and themed to George Lucas' movies.

-Indiana Jones area, basically enhanced theming in the area. And the Indy ride from DL but with newer technology. As big a scale as a TDS project.

Well that's my DHS refurb.

Good Ideas

Those are some pretty good ideas you got there!

I was also thinking that there is room for HKDL to expand even more...well kind of. Basically what I'm trying to say is so much more can be done with the park.

We got Toy Story Playland, Grizzly Trail, and Mystic Point coming, but will the expansion stop there. Well I sure hope not, this park has a lot of potential!

So I think it'd only be right if they added more and more to the park. I will cover my ideas in a little bit, but expect to see some cool new features for Disney's smallest park. :ROFLOL:

I know what we could do with Tokyo's Fantasyland: remodel the Snow White ride, which is currently the "oldest" version in existence. Also, maybe remodel the Mansion slightly, like how Florida's Mansion was remodeled some time ago. And, oh, yeah, update the Dumbo ride, too, to feature the usual sixteen airborne pachyderms instead of ten. As in Florida, there will be no fountain underneath the course. In the middle of the course, Timothy will hold the whip instead of the feather, like in California. And the hot-air balloon he stands on will be in the rainbow design, also like in California, instead of the red-and-white striped design.

And as for Epcot and the Studios, one thing I can think of for each: remodel Journey Into Imagination and the Great Movie Ride, respectively.

And I've also got ideas for Disneyland Paris and Disneyland's Mickey's Toontown, both of which have their own threads. Click here to check them out: Disneyland Paris Refurbishment (Open Brainstorming) and Mickey's Toontown Expansion (Open Brainstorming) .

I think updating Dumbo would be a great idea. It seriously looks like a colorful LEGO set with a few Mega Blocks pieces attached to it. Seriously it really looks that bad right now. Well I mean it's not THAT bad, but still.

As for the Haunted Mansion, I actually think it should be left alone. It kind of makes a balance for all of the mansions to be a bit different than each other. TDL will be more along the lines of the original attraction, WDW will be the most advanced of the bunch with the stairs to nowhere and really cool sound effects, and DL will be the one and only ORIGINAL attraction which has the boundless realm of mist and decay and all that other unique stuff. Phantom Manor is obviously different from the others by a mile. I don't know it's just in my honest opinion I don't think the mansion really needs a massive overhaul, if you read the comments on the boxes below the videos people all agree that the attraction is definitely the scariest mansion out there. It can probably go down for a little refurb though to fix up some of the broken effects and all that. Also they have the jilted bride still and the attic pop up ghosts so that makes them kind of unique in a way.

Here is a list of the land's current attractions:

1. The Haunted Mansion
2. Peter Pan's Flight
3. Snow White's Adventures
4. Pinocchio's Daring Journey
5. Mickey's Philhar Magic
6. Dumbo the Flying Elephant
7. Castle Carrousel
8. Cinderella Castle Walkthrough
9. It's a Small World
10. Alice's Tea Party
11. Pooh's Hunny Hunt

12. The AristoCats
13. The Glass Slipper
14. Baby Mine
15. Fantasy Gifts
16. Fantasyland Camera Shop
17. The Mad Hatter
18. Pleasure Island Candies
19. Pooh Corner

20. Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall
21. Troubadour Tavern
22. Captain Hook's Galley
23. Cleo's
24. Village Pastry

Now the challenge with remodeling TDL's Fantasyland is on the matter of how to make it look. Several buildings such as Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Pooh Corner, and the Haunted Mansion already have that village-like feel to them. What I want to do is give the entire land that magical feel you get when you step into Disneyland or Disneyland Paris' Fantasyland. But I don't want to recreate the whole Bavarian thing. I won't to do something different to match up with the look and feel of Cinderella Castle and the Haunted Mansion. Can anyone share some of their ideas here?

Also I say it is time for it's a small world to get a refurb.

Nice map of your Pixarland project you got there ParksFan!

On the subjects of Haunted Mansions I have a big makeover for the one in California. I'll be sure to post my list of changes soon.

Any other ideas here folks, any other changes for the other parks?

Well, the only thing I can think of for a theme is to replicate what WDW's Fantasyland is about to do, but on a much more modest scale, since it's kinda landlocked on all sides.

Well, one thing is for sure: OVERHAUL TOKYO'S TOMORROWLAND!!!! Or at least remodel the existing buildings and replace Star Jets with something like either Astro Orbiter or Orbitron, since this park's Tomorrowland already has a lot of the same kinds of attractions other parks out there have.

More Stuff

Agreed on Tokyo's Tomorrowland I believe they have:

1. Space Mountain
2. Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek
3. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
4. Star Tours
5. Star Jets
6. Tomorrowland Grand Prix (Or something like that)
7. MicroAdventure!

And something else I think, I'm not really sure what. They never had PeopleMover since they already have transportation systems like that in Japan. Or at least that's what I heard, it could be true, it could be false. Apparently MicroAdventure (HISTA) is actually really popular at TDL, but is it now?

So the four lands I think that can be left alone would be World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Critter Country, and Toontown as none of them seem to have some major "issues." They are all well themed and none of them really need a new look like Tomorrowland and Fantasyland do.

i love the idea for the Prinncess and the Frog idea but mabey instead of reaplaceing the little Mirmaid, I must add is my faverite show,Mabey the Princess and the Frog could be at the Play House Disney show place instead. The Voage of the Little Mirmaid is a classic and alot of people would be sad if it went away.

I have some ideas for Magic Kingdom.

Replace Snow White with a Little Mirmaid ride.

Pixie Hollow the way it is I wish I could see it but we need more fairies. There could be like a fairie garden like they have at the Flower festival but no topearys, Just Fairie homes with tabs about what fairie lives in that home. Such as, Water talents, Light talents, Tinker talents, Dust talents, Animal talents, Fast Flying talents, and more I have to read on of my many fairy books to find out the rest. There would also be a home tree like from the books that you go inside. Thats where make a Fairy is located, I will have news about that in a new Post I am Makeing for Pixie Hollow in Magic Kingdom, I will work on that later today.

Well thats about it.

One thing I want to do is add Pirates of the Caribbean to Hong Kong Disneyland. As a matter of fact there's a lot of things I'd like to do for Hong Kong Disneyland. But I'm actually thinking about making a thread entirely dedicated to this subject in the near future. :animwink:

Yes I know the Hong Kong Disney officials rejected Pirates but I have a good feeling it can make its way into the park in the future. After all they allowed them to give Adventureland the whole "Pirateland" makeover. I plan on posting some of my ideas for the attraction later on. Possibly even some time tomorrow once I'm done with the dreaded school finals.

This version will be a faithful retelling of the classic ride with more movie characters added into it. I know some hate the changes made to the classic attraction (I'm okay with them, not thrilled) but the Pirates series is actually one of the well-known Disney franchises in Hong Kong. Apparently the reason why the park doesn't have Snow White or Pinocchio is because the park's crowd is more familiar with current Disney films. However that may change, perhaps we could release some of these classic movies to relate to the new attractions coming to the park.

I also plan on putting the Haunted Mansion into the park. Now before you tell me no keep in mind that I have a way to fit it into the park without messing with Mystic Manor. I assure you that the Haunted Mansion and Mystic Manor will be two entirely different attractions.

As a matter of fact forget I said any of this. I'm going to keep my entire expansion plan for HKDL under wraps. Expect to see an entire thread dedicated to it very soon. :lookaroun

Yes and the Little Mermaid attraction is already coming to the Magic Kingdom. It is even getting its own themed area. I'll post a link to the video explaining the upcoming changes for Fantasyland, including the new princess meet and greets, the new Dumbo Three-Ring Circus, and all that jazz. :)

Hi-ho, Kermit the frog here, Epcot's Maelstrom could go into Fantasyland in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris. Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, the DHS exhibit, could have a clone in Tokyo's Tomorrowland as a MicroAdventure! replacement, as well.

Maelstrom isn't even in Epcot and I don't think One Man's Dream would be very good in Tomorrowland at all. I agree with MEW, it's a real shame that Piratesland concept was never allowed but hopefully we will see it in the future in Shanghai.

Hi-ho, Kermit the frog here, Maelstrom is a boat ride that's part of the Norway pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.

I think the big problem with Tokyo Disneyland is that while they were trying to cater to the Japanese by giving them wider walkways and pathways to contrast the packed, claustrophobic cities nearby, they sacrificed the Magic Kingdom's feeling of quaint intimacy which most of the designs for the individual buildings were made for. things become so far away from each other that you lose the illusion of forced perspective. Unlike the overwhelming detail and scale that they did with the park next door, TDL is pretty cut and paste from DL and MK without any consideration about how each building would look with vast spaces in between them.

I propose an over-all makeover of TDL with bigger, more elaborate buildings in Fantasyland coupled with lush landscaping to truly transport guests to a medieval time. Bring the WDW Swan boats over to create waterways snaking all around Fantasyland and plenty of trees and gardens.

Tomorrowland would take on the Sci-Fi City makeover that it was supposed to get years ago.
Westernland is fine but Adventureland needs a serious makeover. Make it look more like Discovery Island from Animal Kingdom with winding pathways, lush greenery, in fact I would drop a small scale version of the Tree of Life in there and put Festival of the Lion King inside.

And while some people hate the World Bazaar roof, I would extend it to engulf the nearby Monorail station and them the whole area into a giant Grand Central Station reminiscent of turn of the century america to create an even more dramatic entrance sequence for guests.

You know about the Little Mermaid dark ride being added to the California Adventure and WDW's Magic Kingdom? Well, I think they should replicate that for both Tokyo and Paris.

In Tokyo, it would be found at Tokyo DisneySea, and what better location for this ride than in the park's Mermaid Lagoon area, which is already themed to "The Little Mermaid". In Paris, it would be found in the Toon Studios area of Walt Disney Studios Paris. Tokyo's version would be dubbed in Japanese and Paris' in French, of course. The ride in Paris should be called "Les Voyages de la Petite Sirène".

I also feel that with the opening of this ride in WDW's MK, the Little Mermaid show at the Studios should be sent to Walt Dated World. In other words, remove it completely and replace it with something else.
