Hi Everyone!

Well today my brother, sister and I got some great news. My family is taking us down to WDW the 2nd week of March. We are staying for 7 days. :sohappy: :sohappy: . The last time I was there was February 15-23,2000. We had a blast and are deciding to go back. Well anyway let me get down to business:

Are there any major (or any) refurbishments or attraction closings that I should know about for the time period I will be there?

2 months and counting!

Disney MGM-Studios

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid will be under refurbishment from January 6 through March 1.

Beach Club - Extensive renovations in the guest rooms begins in October when the Yacht Club renovations are completed -- look for new furniture, carpet, tvs and more. Renovations should be completed in March of 2003.

"...Beginning January 3, 2003, the Shipwreck Slide will be closed to guests so we may begin a refurbishment effort. We expect the work to be completed by April 4, 2003. The Stormalong Bay pool will remain open for our guest's enjoyment during the time the Shipwreck Slide is being refurbished......During this time, should you wish to have a slide as part of your pool experience, please visit the Luna Park pool at Disney's BoardWalk Resort. The Luna Park pool is a 190,000-gallon pool that features a 200-foot long slide called the Keister Coaster. Shuttle transportation will be made available during this timeframe for our guests wishing to take advantage of the nearby pool experience."

Polynesian Resort - the longhouses are being refurbished one by one. Each longhouse under rehab is walled off (and very little disturbance to folks staying there). Tentative schedule is:

Samoa: January 6-April 20, 2003
Hawaii: June 1-September 27, 2003 (Service will be moved to another longhouse)
Tonga: September 14-December 20, 2003
Niue: September 28-December 20, 2003

Aotearoa, Fiji and Tuvalu have been completed. Rarotonga has not yet been scheduled.

Keep in mind this schedule is not set in stone and is subject to change.

Port Orleans Riverside - We received a letter reporting that "ort Orleans'Ol' Man Island pool and jacuzzi will be closed to guests beginning Jan 6, 2003 so we may begin this refurbishment effort. We expect the work to be completed by February 8, 2003. The letter says there are 4 other quiet pools nearby at Aligator Bayou or Magnolia Bend for your enjoyment. In addtion, our Doubloon Lagoon pool at French Quarters will continue to be available to our guests. It says if you have any questions regarding our reservation to call Disney Reservation Center at 407 W Disney. (407-934-7639)" (KEN & DEANN JOHNSON, 12/17/02)

Shades of Green - Construction - Rehab Ongoing - Re-Opens December 2003

Blizzard Beach closes for annual rehab on December 29, 2002 through March 1, 2003.

Thanks everyone :D. At least it isn't anything major (space,splash,etc.). That's a relief. :)

P.S. I've never been to WDW in March, what are the crowds like?

Hey!
From right now, I don't think they will have any attractions down. But, they may put Carousel of Progress down for a couple of days, like they always do. Yah never know! Hopefully you will be able to make it when the new Mission Space opens! Don' miss it!~

The only major closing is Voyage of the Little Mermaid through March 1st.

Other closings may be added, but none are currently scheduled.
