Refund on Annual Pass when you become a Cast Memeber?

My wife and I finally broke down and purchased the Premium Annual Passes after living here for 1 month. We held out thinknig she might get a job at Disney, so why pay $380+ for something she would get for free.

Lo and behold as luck would have it, 1 week after purchasing them, she gets a interview with them (and hopefully we weill hear tomorrow or Wednesday) if she gets the job.

So my question is, is there any way for her to get a refund or partial refund on her Annual Pass, since it would be less than 30 days she held it before becoming an Employee?

The pass says No refunds, blah blah blah, but I'm sure they run into this a whole bunch of times. I didn't know how they handled it. Heck I'd take a credit of Disney Dollars or anything.

Granted we'd be tickled pink if she got the job, it would jsut burn me inside knowing I blew $380 if I just waited a few more weeks (but there was no way to tell that when we bought them)

Thanks for your help

First:

She can't get anyone besides herself into the parks until she's worked for 90 and even then it depends on her status and such.

AKA: You'll need it a bit longer.

Plus, being a CM doesn't get you into the pass holder lounges (a perk I still use with my seasonal pass) and on rare occasions, the Pass Holder discount is better than a CM discount. Not to mention, the rule is that the discount is for the CM, not their family or friend, so the money has to come out of the pocket of the CM (depending on how strict the person doing the transaction is).

Oh, not to mention, with a miangate, you have blackout dates (not many) and you only get 12 admissions in an average year. So, you two can either go all the time together with her ID (gets hwer in anywhere anytime) and your annual pass, or only a few times with the maingate.

Her pass, on the other hand, might be good to give back. I still have mine though, never asked, but if you fins something out, let me know! I could use the cash :)

in 2002, they upped it to 16 uses. You can admit 3 people (or more, depending on your number of dependants) 16 times a year, except on blackout dates. Then, you also get 3 (or more, again, depending on dependants) comps twice a year, and holiday celebration comps (3 or more, again on dependants) good during the holidays.

sorry if that sounds at all confusing.

as for the refund, contact GR to see what can be done.

If you don't have dependants, you only get 2 comps :(

And if she is jsut getting hired, she'll probably get the 2003 Maingate which wont have the 16, but rather the typical 12, no?

If she gets the 2002 Maingate, she gets 16 admissions (up to 3 people each time) to use before the next one is issued in December/January. Hehe!

if she's just hired now, she'll get a 2002 Maingate probably in late November-early December, so I say exploit the living hell out of it..

as for the downgrade to 12, I was under the impression from the Cast Ticketing office, that the 16 was permanent... I'll have to give them a call sometime tomorrow

You know what's really sad? I just realized I have comps jsut lying around somewhere on my desk and I have no idea where they are.

Talk about taking things for granted. *searches for them*

I was told it was "4 extra days (1 for each park) for the 100 years of Magic!"

Ya know?

Also, if her start date isn't for another few weeks, she might not get it until 2003. She's on the border right now.

Oh really? ATLAS i'm guessing, no? Cuz I rolled over one with my desk chair the first day I got home and I have doubts about the bar-code readability.

Tee Hee Hee. I was thinking about becoming a CM when I was with my AP. I wanted to "use it to its fullest potential" so when I became one, it wouldn't be considered a waste.

Well, at least you can still get into the AP lounges and buy AP-only stuff. (Newsflash! We have new AP shirts and hats for sale! Show your AP pride!:D ). I did that when I was a Cast and my pass didn't expire 'til this month.

*Sob*, somehow, I miss the lazy days of being an AP. I don't hate my job, but there was "something" that made it worthwhile for some reason.

bypass Atlas, go straight to casting, it's Suite 140 (I think), and they'll give you a new set of comps (and invalidate your old ones)

December, and your 2003 pass won't be valid until... 2003, so even if you have it in 2002, it won't do a damn thing for you

Also your immediate family will be entitled to your discount. This means your husband and kids under 18. They will be provided with the appropriate cards, but they dont get free entrance

Mine works as Tig said...And I have an annual pass, and thats what I use for entry right now, I had already used my AP enough to pay for itself....I was told that I could get a partial or full refund, depending on how much it had been used:)
