Refillable Mugs

Hi There

Sorry if this question as already been asked before.

I am staying at the yacht club and I think I read somewhere that there are no longer resort specific mugs so I was wondering can you now fill up anywhere, so for me also use the boardwalk locations?

Where can I fill up from the yacht club?

Thanks

Your refillable mug is officially only good for the resort you're staying at for the duration of your stay.

Technically no, you can only use it at your resort. However, there is no way that anyone could tell if you fill it up elsewhere. It's really all about your feelings on the topic.

I really think that rule is dumb. I can understand not being able to fill it in the parks or on subsequent trips, but if you're staying at the Boardwalk and you take a stroll over to the Beach Club it should not make you feel guilty to use the Beach Club's machine.

I know it's a really hot topic, but if Disney actually cared they'd probably do a bar code system. And on the Keys tour I think they said it costs WDW about 1 cent to refill a coke?

So you'd have to refill it over a thousand times to cause Disney to lose any profit.

To confirm...

Per official policy:

Resort Refillable Mugs are sold in all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and can be used at the restaurant where it was purchased for the entire duration of the current visit. Each location offers soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, hot and iced tea.

Resort Refillable Drink Mugs are only available at the Food Court or Quick Service Restaurant of the Guest's Disney Resort Hotel. Guests must use their mug at the resort they are staying at and only at the Food Court or Quick Service dining locations.

I have been wondering, if this is a hard rule, then why did they change the mugs to one generic type? 2007's version was the same but at least had 2007 on it; 2008 looks identical to the 2007 version, but without a year dated on it. It seems as if they realized that cast members were looking the other way, so they decided at least to make it cost effective for them by not making resort-specific mugs, and they kind of went with the flow, while still having the same official rule. I miss the souvenier resort mugs, and we used them only at our resort anyway, not being judgmental, only because it was convenient to use them only at your resort.

When we stayed at Coronado Springs in January (2008), we got 'Pepper Market' CS mugs. Any idea why they still had those since I've read that all resorts have gone to the same refillable mug?

I've told, very politely, that I don't like the new Year of a Million Dreams design and that I already have bought one. I ask if they have any Resort specific mugs in the back that I may purchase instead. I was granted my request at AS Movies and Beach Club. I was told none left at BoardWalk.
