How old is this thing? Does the Reedy Creek Improvement District exist anymore, what with all the EPA stuff probably preventing the MK from expanding?

Reedy Creek still exists and is still governing over WDW. It's like a mini-government, like a small/city town would have. Essentially is lets Disney do what it wants with the land in FL regardless of surround laws/rules. (This is an extreme statement, there are of course limits, but in general it's true.)

It's no more different than having a polo shirt that says your local school board's name on it.

BTW: Garbage trucks in WDW say "Reedy Creek Improvement District" on them, so thats atleast 1 thing i know they control.
