Recording Audio...

Is using a Mini-Disc recorder with a mic a good way to record attraction audio? I dont have a reg. tape recorder, and I forgot to try it the last time I was there...thinking it would take the fun away from the ride by trying to get the thing going and ending before I got to the station..also will CMs question you if you are recording audio?

They dont allow it..so youd have to hide the recorder. The quality would be pretty raw (youd hear the ride mechanics as well as all other ambient noises)..but it'll work.

Do you know how to get it to the computer?? I have about 3+ hours of Disney audio that I downloaded or recorded from a CD of my own onto MDs so I could listen to them to FLA, and I can't figure out how to get it back onto the comp so I can put it on a CD....:brick:

The simplest way is to get a male-to-male 3.5mm (headphone type) cable at Radio Shack and plug one end into the line-out (or headphone out) of your minidisc recorder and plug the other end into your computer's soundcard line-in. Next use a program like Audiograbber and select 'file', then 'line-in recording'. Click the record button and hit play on your minidisc to start recording to a wav file on your harddrive.

Unless you have a minidisc player with optical digital out and a computer with optical digital-in, you won't have perfect copies of the audio from your minidiscs, but you probably won't notice much difference using the above method anyhow. Good luck!

Would Windows Media Player work?? I dont have any other media player besides WMP, and MusicMatch.

I don't think WMP has record capabilities, but the Windows Sound Recorder does. It's under the Start button => Accessories => Entertainment => Sound Recorder

Make sure you click on the little speaker icon by the time on the windows taskbar and select "Options", then "Properties" and then check the Recording check box, click OK, then select the line-in source all before you even start recording with Sound Recorder.

I definitely recommend AudioGrabber (http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/download.html)
There's a free version that may do enough for you to record.
