I put a full list of my thoughts from my trip last week in the trip report section( http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?p=2970617#post2970617 ) but i felt a couple of them were worthy to be placed in general discusions so here goes:

I do have to say, TSM is a lot of fun! We did it twice, one with fastpass and the other in the single rider line (I just do not wait in lines over 30 minutes, and 170 minutes is absolutely absurd to me) so I unfortunately missed the Mr. Potatohead part of the queue. I will say that the ride is (obviously) more of a game than an actual ride. Which is cool and all, but while some people were saying it makes Buzz lightyear’s ride seem lame, I feel that they cant compare because buzz is still a ride.

Ok so we did Fantasmic for the first time since... i dont know its been so long, but i completely forgot why we havent been back and thats because i think it is incredibly underwhelming. the whole thing is practically a clip show projected on water. there are really only a couple scenes of actual characters and most of it is an oddly placed sequence from Pocohontas. really? pocohontas? when Mickey dreams, i find it odd thats what he dreams about. it just doesnt seem to fit to me. and then the "fight" with the dragon is basically mickey half-heartedly trying to hide while the dragon just sits there barely moving. maybe i just came on a bad night. anyway, totally not worth the wait, IMHO.

The Nemo musical was cool and confusing at the same time. I wasn’t really enjoying the songs, and probably would have preferred if they just preformed the movie without them. Also I understand the format of the show, but I found it annoying how the “voices” of the puppets would act as the character from time to time. So are we watching the puppet or the voice? Also, that’s not how I would imagine Crush’s singing voice to sound…

Monsters Inc was hilarious! First time doing it since its opened. However, we went twice and my mom got picked to do the mind reading gag with buddy on both occasions! Weird! We were sitting in different places each time. Plus my dad got picked to be “that guy” and we noticed that he was sitting in probably the same spot that the “that guy” from the other show we’d seen was sitting. Do they do the same show every time? I mean I know its not EXACTLY the same, but the mind reading, the telling the monsters inc story, and actually even the audience’s jokes were pretty much all the same. Are there any other show formats?

We did BB for the first time since we went soon after it opened and I was immediately reminded of why we never went back. That is a serious hike up that hill to get to the slides! Does anyone else feel this way? By the time I got up there I was dreading the ride because I didn’t want to have to climb back up! Now that may change once the parks fill up and the lines stretch down the hill allowing you to only move every 30 seconds but still, that’s just not pleasant. Ill take TL lack of slides and relaxed atmosphere over that any day!

Oh no, I have never seen Fantasmic(except on youtube ). I have heard it is amazing. Oh well, I will still see it and see what I think.
I am so excited for TSM!
I thought MILF was good too. Some people don't like it but I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty funny and good for a family to see together.
Never been to BB. Hopefully I will get to in 2 weeks!

We loved the show - my 5yo son didn't notice the people/actors until about 10 minutes before the end, when he whispered in my ear: "Daddy, there are people up there too!" LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels Fantasmic is a bit overrated. Its not really a fireworks show, but I don't consider it a stage show either because the live actors are only seen for brief periods of time. I don't know, but I just don't get that level of excitement and anticipation with Fantasmic as I do with Wishes and IllumiNations.

Oh, and as far as the mountain climbing goes at Blizzard Beach, there is actually a chair lift that will take you up the mountain. Depending on which slide you want to go on, its easier and more relaxing to wait the 5 minutes for the chair lift than it is to climb the never ending stairs. Unfortuanately, to get a kind of thrilling slides they do at BB, the stairs are a necessary evil.

Overall, sounds like you had a great time. Of course, I don't know how you could go to Disney and NOT have a good time.

yeah im aware of the chair lift. however, the past 2 times ive been there the line for it was incredibly long. my strategy for the park was basically get on as many slides as i could right from the start and spend the rest of the time being lazy in the river and bobbing in the wave pool!

My family has really enjoyed Monsters Inc. We've seen it 3 times. It's just fun and you can grab a FP for something else while you see the show.

Crush has a singing voice? Ugh, hard to imagine.

I totally agree with you on fantasmic. I went twice. Once by myself and once because my mom and aunt were in town and begged to go. I told them it wasn't that great and wasn't worth the sitting in the stadium for forever to wait for it to begin, but they insisted. They left agreeing with me.

We have found that you can enjoy Fantasmic just as much by waiting until the last 10-15 minutes to go in and get a seat.
You will wind up sitting all the way over to the left but you still see everything. There are no bad seats, as long as you get a seat.

Waiting for almost an hour just to be sitting near the middle is not worth it. Been there; done that.

Fantasmic is not meant to compare to Wishes or Illuminations (nor do I think you can compare them to each other, either). Plus the whole basis of the show is the projections on the water. That gives the show it's name. I happen to agree that I don't want to see it every time, but my DDs think it's cool, so we usually go.

The songs (and the cool set) are what it's all about, not the story. The actors being visible is supposed to add a whole new "avant garde" feel to it. I like it. I feel the duality adds interest. And I think Crush's voice was radical, dude.

I like MI, too. I so want to be "that guy" - where did he sit?

I didnt' find the BB climbing much more strenuous than TL, and I'm far from fit. Plus at TL you have to do more of your own tube carrying. Each park has it's plusses and minuses. I like both about equally, but if I had to pick, I'd do BB.

Now I'm no Disney veteran but i feel that Fantasmic has, over the years, been toned down somewhat. Don't get me wrong, its still a great show and very enjoyable (and worth the 60 minute wait during peak times to get a central seat) but I feel that it is now sadly lacking in comparisson to Wishes and Illuminations

Lots of mixed reviews on Fantasmic here...I haven't seen the show yet, on my last visit we headed over after dinner & it was already filled up. We probably had about 20 mins til showtime, so we didn't stay. I plan to see it this time around & I hope I'm not disappointed! :lookaroun

If you have never seen a lake on fire before then you will like it.
Fantasmic is still a must-see for first time viewers.

(Has the Cuyahoga river caught on fire lately?)

You never know what someone will like or won't like. Tastes are different. But for whatever it's worth, Fantasmic won over Wishes, Illuminations, and Spectromagic in a poll of over 2000 voters on this site for favorite nighttime show at WDW.

I like Fantasmic, but I don't think anyone can deny that the whole thing is completely random. I really wish they would do something else with the Pocohontas part I just don't get it.

As far as MILF and Nemo go, my reaction to both were *Meh*, although the fact that both of them have A/C and a place to sit gives the extra points.

Oh, and your complaint about BB pretty much sums up why I'm not a water park fan in general. The whole standing in line and walking up all those stairs in your wet bathing suit just isn't my idea of fun. I stay away from all water parks, unless I plan on just hanging out in the lazy river.

that was just a long list of complaints from the trip..

Fantasmic is awesome.. Yes, there is a water show.. but the inbetween is great. And the finale.. is magical.

Im sure however, if you looking for things to complain about, instead of having a great time.. you will find some.
