Recent dead thread revival

I fully understand the need to bring back a thread or two every once and a while when new news pertaining to the subject becomes available, but recently a lot of old threads (some five years old) have been bumped back to the top of the page in the WDW News and Rumors forum, without any necessary cause. It is beginning to flood the forum and make it more difficult to find the recent threads I am actually looking for.

Is there anything that can be done with this matter? I'm all for bringing back a thread rather than creating a new one, but only when there is a reason to bring it back. I greatly appreciate it!

Steve has asked people to stop this; both within the threads they are doing it and in Forums News and Announcements.

I belong to several forums on topics ranging from Disney to my Cell Phone...many of these forums archive anything more than a year old and make them read-only. Is that something that can be done here? I think it would be easy enough to start a new thread if it actually pertained to anything current.

Thank you Iakona...I saw that later after I made this thread.

RonAnnArbor, that is possible, but I believe it would require moving old threads to an "archive" forum that could be made read only. With so much here, that would probably be a tough task to undertake.
