Can I book my package through AAA and still use my free dining pin code I got in an email from Disney? I looked on AAA website and they have the free dining promo listed as an speical offer. Would AAA be cheaper?Just curious:veryconfu

I would price both out and see what is better. If you talk to someone at AAA and tell them what you have they might have something similar as well. Whatever offers you the best price...book that.

My parents are joining us at WDW for part of our trip this December. They opted to book through their AAA travel agent rather than go with my agent. While they never received a PIN in the mail or email...I did- and from what I understand, a PIN can be used for up to 3 reservations (i.e. per reservation #). So, in any event- my parents spoke to their AAA agent and were told that she could apply that PIN code to their reservation if their reservation qualified. They are only staying 3 nts and the PIN I got requires a 5 nt stay...so, they couldn't use it...but the AAA agent would have been able to apply it to their WDW trip booked through AAA had they been staying at least 5 nts...or so they were told.

As for AAA being cheaper- you'd have to have your agent price out the trip w/free dining vs. whatever AAA discount (if any) is being offered.

As long as you are just using AAA as your travel agent and not trying to combine the AAA discount with the free dining discount then there isn't an issue. The problem comes in if you're trying to take advantage of the AAA package discount and the free dining discount at the same time, then you have to choose between the discounts. If you just want AAA to book your trip with the free dining discount then yes you can go ahead and use them, they will quote you the exact same price as Disney.

Normally you cannot stack discounts. So if you go for free dining, typically you must pay full price for the room. Most packages available don't really offer any additional discounts beyond what you can get yourself by buying it all seperately. And you may pay more since you can do things like use a room discount PIN, and then buy your tickets from a reseller. Packages may offer other perks like a free photopass picture, arcade voucher, boat rental, etc. Ask em both to quote it out and see what it will cost. You can do AAA room discounts directly through Disney, but as I mentioned before, typically you cannot stack that with free dining. Typically I believe they are 10-15% off rooms.

OKAY THANKS! What if I got my brother to buy the military tickets (the discounted ones on base not the $99 special) for our whole length if stay AND book a room at the POP for full price, can I still get/add free dining?

No. You cannot add free dining onto a room only reservation unless you have an Annual Pass. The dining plan, whether it's free or not, is not a separate entity that can simply be added onto any old room at will. It can only be added onto a 'package'. And a package consists of a room and ticket combination. You would need to purchase at least a one day base ticket to make your room at Pop Century at package valid for the dining plan.

thanks! I am going to run numbers to see if maybe I get a 4 day hopper then buy a one day base ticket to see which is cheaper.. However you did say annual pass, so what about this: I was going to by my mom and nanny the weekly pass for florida residents..it's only like $175 which is way cheaper than an normal 5 day hopper pass... we are going mon-fri anyway.... So can I add free dining for all of us with those annual passes?
