Real World Internet Speak

I was speaking to a friend about an annual pass and said “AP” instead of “annual pass”. I found out that she didn’t speak forum language. Since joining this Forum, I have grown accustomed to saying “dack” (DAK) instead of “Animal Kingdom”. I also say DVC instead of Vacation Club. There are several more examples of how my verbal communication skills have deteriorated since joining the Forum because of the abbreviations that we use. :)

Does anyone else use form-speak in their non-computer communication when talking about Disney World (or, you know, WDW)? Just curious.

Yes, I remember the olden days when I said "reservation". I just hope that I don't call a non-Disney restaurant and ask to make an ADR.

AP, DVC and ADR are the ones that seem to come out the most frequently. Things like PotC, ToT and BTMRR just do not roll off the tongue as easy.

Yes, oddly enough, I find that many non message board people often say Epcot instead of Experimental prototype community of tomorrow. What a bunch of linguistically challenged laggards. :D

We were in the Disney Store just the other day, and the 2 employees (are they cast members if working at a Disney Store?) were both gushing about their upcoming trips. So I said that we just made our ADR's. They both looked at me like I was a few flakes shy of a bowl! I mean, c'mon! Of all people that should know their Disney-speak, it should be those that work at the Disney Store!
