Fell upon a semi-old but still interesting article and video on real, bioluminscent trees, and I instantly thought of the possibility of applying this to Avatar land.

I wonder how far away this tech is for usage in large trees and for a fairly large-scale order that this project would be, and also if it could really be used at this stage to mimic the looks of Pandora.

None the less, could definitely have cool theme park possibilities in the future. I guess the biggest disadvantage is that you can't turn off the lights ;)

EDIT: Now with a link!

This would make an awesome addition to the park and would give people more of a reason to stick around AK through nightfall. If the place is a spectacle to the eye at night it would be a great one-two punch with the new nighttime show.

Disney has all the money and creative juices needed to put something like this together and rightfully should. They can easily complete this with fake plants and trees and could really make the place look marvelous at night.
