Regular parking will remain at $18, but for $35 you can get a preferred parking space near the Escalators and Elevators. This program will be offered during the Holiday period (starting 11/21), and then might continue. (A test).

They do this here at WDW too. Ridiculous. The only preferred parking I paid for that was actually worth the money was USH's. I could literally see the gate to the park from the rear view mirror.

Will the Preferred Parking folks also get priority at the new Security check?

Maybe Front of the Line passes to the Trams.

Heck, for $35, you can get to park within "sight" distance of the new Security Area at USH. No tram, no major walk, just park near the rotating Globe and head to the park.

Again, no surprises here. I will not pay for preferred parking. If there is a way for Disney to get the customer to voluntarily hand over more money on each visit it will be done. The sad part about stuff like this, is that it is not simply charging more for an additional service or product. It's simply taking away something that was available to everyone and making it available only to those that can afford or choose to pay for it.

One thought, I can pay a maximum of $36 for Downtown Disney parking, so if I get to the north lot earlier, and have a lot less hassle entering the lot off of Magic Way, can pick my own spot, and then just walk to the Main Entrance Plaza.

One drawback would be the wait for exiting due to having to pay, but still should be about equal to trying to exit the parking structure.

Until they raise that max price to $50

Or they close the lot for the new Hotel Construction, and forces you to park at Simba or some other farther lot.

Of course, there is the Valet options at the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian as other options for good parking. Heck, if it is good enough for Disney Exec.....

I was at the resort briefly tonight and, can confirm, the new Premium Parking was active at M&F structure. Didn't notice any marked off areas however, so not sure where they were sending people.
