I would like to propose the start of a group imagineering project!
However, this one is going to be totally unlike the one's previously conceived. First off, it is going to be longterm (like real imagineering projects).
I've noticed that this website is full of members that possess an incredible amount of creativity and imagination. Despite this, so far the group imagineering threads I've looked at are hard to follow and are disorderly in nature.
I think I've formulated a solution to this problem. The key is to create a project that is both organized and small in scope. We shall create only ONE attraction somewhere in Walt Disney World.
With that said, I would like to structure this imagineering project over a series of threads in the following way.
THREAD ONE (aka the idea thread):
In this thread, which I will start in a couple of days, people will respond with what attraction they think we should conceive. People can list as many as they would like to create, but in the end only one will be chosen. (It's important that we only concentrate on one attraction. Parks are too big of a project to start on such an initial endeavor and that could get too confusting)
THREAD TWO (aka the initial decision thread):
After about a week of thread one, it will be closed and we will move on to thread two. Here a poll will be set up where we will vote on the attraction ideas conceived in thread one. The attraction with the most votes will be the one we will create.
THREAD THREE (aka the blue sky thread):
This thread will be the most unorganized of all the threads. Here everyone will post with as many ideas as they would like to see implemented in the attraction. Any idea that comes to mind can be posted here.
THREAD FOUR (aka the idea decision thread):
Here we vote on what ideas we want to keep from the blue sky thread and discuss the future of the attraction.
THREAD FIVE (aka building/outdoor concept art thread):
Here people will submit what the attraction will look like on the outside. Such images can be handdrawn or computer rendered. Also, if you are not that great of an artist (like me) then a simple sketch will do. Later, someone with artistic talent can take your design and create something that looks professional.
THREAD SIX (aka concept art voting):
Here we vote on the concept art created in thread five and discuss any changes we would like to see from the winner's creation.
THREAD SEVEN (aka ride layout and concept art thread):
Here people will submit what the attraction's layout, vehicles, queue lines, exhibits (all things decided upon in thread four) will look like. It will follow the same pattern as thread five.
THREAD EIGHT (aka concept art voting 2):
Here we vote on the concept art created in thread seven and discuss any changes we would like to see from the winner's creation.
THREAD NINE (aka publicity/logo creation thread):
Here we submit digital media entires of what the attraction's poster will look like and what its logo will be.
THREAD TEN (aka logo/publicity voiting):
Here we vote on thread nine's entries!
THREAD ELEVEN (aka the showoff thread):
This thread will be structured like a disney press conference announcing a new attraction. It will describe the attraction that we have created to everyone on this website. It will then display the ideas we have conceived, the concept art we have chosen, the ride layout and design created, and the poster and logo created.
As you can see, this will be a longterm project. However, it will aslo hopefully be a lot of fun. We will start with everyone's great ideas and turm them into a tangible concept. If you are interested in participating, please respond to this thread. You will then receive a pm when each subsequent thread is created.
Hopefully, we will create a little magic....HAVE FUN!
READY...SET...LET's IMAGINEER!
