Prices keep going up but so does attendance, me I do not get it a vacation at Walt Disney World is a major expense, when will people stop going?

I stopped going myself (spending $3000 plus for a week) but I am really a minority.

Your option was to ignore the post or 'should-have-searched'-shamed him on his topic choice. The line between teaching someone and ridiculing someone isn't a fine line, it has plenty of room for kindness.

This is an interesting question. WDW is becoming a global destination. As such, you are 'competing' with people from all around the world on price. You are actually the majority as far as who can afford WDW, globally speaking.

I don't mean competing in that you are driving prices down, I actually mean competing for a limited supply of park access. Think of it as a weird global auction for park tickets. As demand goes up, the prices are forced up because supply can't really move. So, what, there are 7,000,000,000 people that all want to go? How many of those can afford to go? That of course depends on price. But you really can't have 7,000,000,000 in the park at one time so prices keep going up to keep parks at capacity, but also high enough to keep parks from exceeding capacity.

THAT is the magic number that may or may not work for you. Disney is a luxury good and you just don't compete globally anymore on the ability to pay.

Economics isn't always nice. =/

You are not alone. We have decided that our ROI of vacation dollar nets more enjoyment elsewhere for a while. Overplanning, overcrowding and empty unused spaces have left us kind of sour. Our vacation dollar has gone elsewhere until at least 2017 and then we will re-evaluate but at the very least would only consider a split stay between WDW and Universal (yes...I said it). It is a personal decision and one that I do not expect anyone to agree with (not do I care if they do) but out $4-5K is going elsewhere and has been since 2013.

Is there supposed to be a link to an article in here? The title is referencing it and I wanted to read it. I know that I let my annual pass go due to the constant price costs and the diminishing quality of show.
