Six Flags Magic Mtn has shut down "X" indefinatly and removed it from their web site. Does any one know why and do you think RCT 2 will still have the ride in the game?

Arrow Dynamics, the designers of the ride, screwed Six Flags over and didn't build "X" correctly, and then went bankrupt on them. And Six Flags does not know how or is unwilling to fix the attraction, so they are leaving Standing But Not Operating.

It probably won't effect the game at all.

HAHAH!

X is closing indefinatly? HAHAHA! I saw the ride on Extreme Rides 2002 and they were prasing it and all that PR BS.

Plus, many times a company like Six Flags, hires other help to fix a ride. Paramount did this to fix Hypersonic XLC when S&S refeused to fix the trains.

So that means no Hypersonic XLC for any other Paramount Park.

Its no longer closed indefenitely, they received a new train, tested it, and it's expected to reopen soon, but yes Arrow did go bankrupt on them.

Who did they get to design/build the new train?

It looks like Arrow (or whoever owns Arrow now) struck a deal with Six Flags and is helping them to make modifications to the broken parts.
"Screamscape has gotten the official skinny on what is going on with X. Despite a previous rumor that it may be closed down for the rest of the summer, we’ve been told it to expect it to reopen in a couple of weeks. From what we have been led to understand, it seems that Arrow engineers are working with the park on fixing a “sub standard” part that was manufacured for Arrow by a 3rd Party Vendor. "

But as we all know, Screamscape is not the most reliable of sources, so Im not sure.

You'll be happy to know that X has reopened to the public. Go to www.sixflags.com to read the press release. It doesn't explain the actual problem (obviously), but it does say that it is open again. The problem of course were cracks found in those parts mentioned above, which are on the trains. If it was never discovered, the trains could have come off of the track.

The bad news though is that because of this little incident, Six Flags share holders have officially voted to no longer build prototype rides in their parks ever again. Obviously from the 60% drop in their stock today, they made a wise choice.
