LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Ratatouille" was easily the most popular film at the foreign box office for a third weekend in a row, with weekend sales of $30.2 million from 31 countries, according to final data issued Monday.

The Disney/Pixar animated offering, opening at No. 1 in five final foreign ports after starting out on June 28, reached an international gross of $310.1 million. Disney statisticians had a busy weekend recording new records set by "Ratatouille," among them: the third-most-popular Disney/Pixar enterprise after "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredibles"; the 10th Disney title to cross $300 million at the overseas box office; and the sixth-most-popular nonsequel animated title ever.

The film was No. 1 in 13 countries, including holdovers as well as in the five new bows. Disny/Pixar set new company records with openings in Italy ($8.2 million), Poland ($1.5 million) and Finland ($668,000). Sweden's $2 million was the second-biggest opening in industry history. China, meanwhile, greeted "Ratatouille" at No. 1 with $585,000.

The French bistro rat-turned-culinary star has served up $29.3 million in 18 days in Germany, and $18.5 million in two weekends in the U.K.

The romantic fantasy "Stardust" had the right magic to capture the No. 2 spot with $8 million from 35 markets, raising its international total to $41.9 million. It opened at No. 2 in the U.K. with $4.5 million, and at No. 3 in Germany with $1.1 million.

"Resident Evil: Extinction" pulled in about $6.2 million from 21 markets, providing an international total of $48.3 million. It opened at No. 3 in South Korea with $1.5 million, the only U.S. film in the top five.

Spain's "The Orphanage" (El Orfanato) followed with $5.1 million, exclusively from its home territory, where it has been No. 1 for two weeks; the market total rose to $15.6 million.

In the search-for-Oscar category, George Clooney's "Michael Clayton" picked up almost $4 million, opening at No. 2 in both France ($1.8 million) and Australia ($720,000).
