Rapunzel tower down

With much of the logic I'm reading it sounds like just about all of the meet and greets don't belong in Epcot either. We should also lose the Nemo ride?
Sorry, but I'd appreciate ticket prices remaining around where they are for a while, and Soarin' and Maelstrom and Mission Space, etc. just don't sell as well as Disney characters. The more they make on merchandise the better, and if you don't see the characters in the parks you're not going to buy their merchandise.

I agree. There has to be a certain amount of Disneyness in the park otherwise it would just not feel like a Disney Park. Whilst it might not be culturally-accurate to have Donald Duck walking around Mexico in a sombrero, thats what guests expect and want from a Disney Park, especially if they've got kids who might not otherwise appreciate the architecture, music etc. You should go to the real countries if you want to see it how it really is; Disney is an ideology afterall, and you should buy into it to get the most out of it.

In regards to the Future Technology debate, sure that is a big part of EPCOT, but the park would lose alot of it's appeal and atmosphere if it were to just be like an interactive science museum. I think Disney have got just about the right balance between science, culture and Disney to keep most people happy.

all bent out of shape over this little thing?

And yes, it did light up at night.

Sometimes it's nice to have things that are only available certain times of the year. It makes a visit during those times that much more special.

The second picture of it was during Easter before F & G. It looked much better at night before they added the hair over the light strings. After the hair was added you could barely tell that it lit up. The top picture is the final version.

I would love to see a full size tower in the new fantasyland. Every 30 minutes they could have her hair descend and have it light up, have her singing etc.

Getting angry over that miniscule tower being in Germany seems like such an antiquated idea. I think it's little details that add interest and make things fresh. I brought my mother to the park yesteday, and was saddened that the topiaries had all been taken down since my last visit just a week earlier.

Epcot is going to have synergy, and it's here to stay. It's been this way for over a decade now, and it keeps kids interested in what is the most attraction sparse portion of the park.

When I was a kid, I hated World Showcase. It was just a bunch of shops and restaurants. I used to say "YA DONE?" to my mom and dad when they would stop to browse. At least the character representations are linked with the countries where their tales originated. Adults can take the opportunity to tell their kids about how Belle was in France long before Disney animated it. :)

I think we should at least be thankful the tower didn't come with a sign that said "BUY IT ON BLU-RAY/DVD THIS SUMMER!" :ROFLOL:

Let's all stop clutching our pearls over something so insignificant, shall we?

(And I love how this thread is quickly becoming a referendum on what forum posters deem acceptable and unacceptable for Epcot!!)

Yeah I posted this as just a bit of news lol. I really didn't anticipate everyone getting their panties in a bunch over a little tower.

I'm curious as what they DO with it though.
