Now that the dust in my head is starting to settle, and the love bugs are all off the front of my car, here are a few thoughts I was too tired to include in my daily reports from the park:
Most memorable meal: For me it was the Grand Sandwich at the Grand Floridian Cafe. The ham and turkey were the real thing, not deli-loaf, and the boursin cheese sauce was incredible. I can still imagine the taste in my mouth. For Vern, it was the chicken dinner at Kona Cafe, which leads us to...
Funniest moment: As he was eating his chicken dinner, Vern said "Now I know what paradise tastes like." I replied "Tastes like chicken?" It was a squirt diet Pepsi through the nose moment. You had to be there.
New friends: The couple from St. Augustine in line for Mission Space who said "Who let all these kids in? Aren't they supposed to be at Magic Kingdom?" and waved at us later at the FaWF. The couple on the boat on the way to GF for lunch, who waved at us later in the day at MK. The woman from Long Island whose lively conversation made the 40 minute wait for Soarin seem like 5.
Old friends: We've never run into friends from home at the parks before. This time we ran into 3, two of them twice. What are the odds?
Worst guest: The one in front of us in the T0T line who must have doused himself with a whole bottle of patchouli-based fragrance. We both got sick from it.
Hero: Michal at Main Street Barber shop for rescuing my bad haircut, and making it a fun experience.
New threads: The costumes for Beauty and the Beast look brand new again. The show was lots of fun, too. Always a favorite.
New CM friend: Kay at Bellevue room breakfast. She was a great way to start each day. Thanks, Kay!!!!
Forum friends: running into DisneyBunny and MJ's family
Won't overlook again: Lots of restaurants we've never tried before, but now love, like Fettucine in Italy, Brown Derby
Will go to this overlook again: Watching the MK fireworks from the Contemporary 4th floor observation deck.
Best ride not in the parks: The Kiester Coaster at BW. Made the mid-day escape from the heat like going to another park.
Coincidence? No matter how many times we have ridden ToT over the years, we always seem to get in line in front of guests from Great Britain.
I may have more later. I'm at work, and keep getting interrupted...
