Railroad track pieces at STOL on Google Maps

Hey all,

Longtime reader, but first post.

So while doing some research for a Disney project I'm working on I have been spending a lot of time with Google Maps opened. I noticed something interesting on there this evening.

If you look towards the very bottom of the STOL (WDW Airport) you see bunch of trailers, a crane, & what looks like a bunch of pieces of RAILROAD TRACKS! As a fan of the mythic Fort Wilderness Railroad this piqued my interest. Are they just now removing old pieces of track? Something else?

The pieces aren't visible on Bing or iOS maps... so I don't know how long they have been there on Google's satellite. Does anyone have any ideas to what project this could be. I have attached an image from Google Maps.

Yeah its 7DMT besides why would Disney even want to store the old railroad.
Thanks all. I didn't even think of the Dwarves Coaster. Seems like a weird place to keep track for a ride in the MK when they have backstage locations closer.

I never assumed they would be storing or keeping old railroad, but if there was some sort of planned construction going on at FW they might need to remove old track and put it someplace temporarily. There are still some patches of old track there... is there not?

Welcome !

If I am not mistaken all the track for the Fort Wilderness Railroad has been removed. The beds have been made into walking and golf cart paths.

There are some Engines and Cars being rebuilt in private collections.

This is a neat history site for the FWRR:

Railroad tracks aren't installed as ladder-shaped sections. They are composed of gobs of cross ties and a couple of track pieces.
