Radiator Springs Racers ride closed for holiday weekend

"The Disneyland Resort has closed one of its most popular attractions indefinitely after what appeared to be smoke coming out of one of its cars.

Radiator Springs Racers, the centerpiece of the Disney California Adventure Park’s Cars Land, was closed late Tuesday for investigation after witnesses said they saw smoke coming out of one of the vehicles after it crossed the finish line."

A Disneyland spokesperson confirmed that there was an issue with a single vehicle, and the ride was closed all day Wednesday. It will remain closed indefinitely “out of an abundance of caution.”

The Disneyland spokesperson said that guests “might see visible testing over the weekend.”

"Although a different Disney blog was reporting that other rides in the Cars Land section of Disney California Adventure were also shut down, a Disney spokesperson said Thursday morning that the Maters Junkyard Jamboree ride was operating, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters would be up momentarily."

I had the same thought. There have been so many cost cutting measures lately. It does make you wonder if we are on our way to another Thunder Mountain or Mark Twain accident. Have we returned to that kind of park management again?

Perhaps it is a good time to stay away for awhile.

I'm curious to see what crowds are like in Car's Land over the weekend without the land's signature attraction. Radiator Springs may once again become a ghost town.

I think they have returned to Pressler era. They won't change their practices until people stop coming (unlikely) or someone dies (highly likely).

I trust Cedar Fair, Merlin and Universal right now over Disney. They are sinking to Six Flags levels.
