Race day transportation

What is the easiest way to get to a race when staying on-site but not at one of the resorts with transportation?

DH and I were booked for CBR which has race transporation for ToT, but we ended up switching to CSR to get free dining. We will have a car, but would prefer to use Disney transportation if possible. Any suggestions?

I honestly thought that all on-site hotels provided transport. Basically, if they have bus service you can get to the race starting point. If I'm wrong, man I'm really reading everything wrong. Check the RunDisney site.

It depends on the race. The only race that provide transportation from all resorts is Marathon Weekend because it is such a large event. A majority of the resorts have race transportation for the other ones but Coronado is not one for ToT. I don't know if they would allow this but maybe you could drive to another resort (say All-star because it's probably the closest host), park and then take the bus from there?

If not, your only option staying at a non-host is to drive. =/

Princess Half has gotten so big that all resorts are hosts for that one, too.

@bethram, driving or cab to the start or a host resort to catch the bus there is your only option, I think.

As @Ariel484 said, if you aren't at an official host resort, then its drive your own car or take a cab. You could try to do some convoluted thing like driving to another moderate resort and park there to take the bus, but why? I'd just drive to the designated parking area.

Thanks everyone! I figured we'd end up having to drive, but I wanted to see if there were any other options. Driving back to the resort at 2 or 3 am doesn't sound like fun, but you do what's necessary to get free dining :)
