quietest and busiest day to visit MK

Well, that depends. Are we talking days of the week here?

Are you staying at a Disney resort? If so, you may want to take advantage of EMH.

If you are not staying at a Disney resort, avoid weekends and EMH days. Saturday is the worst day for MK except during low season (you can get away with it in the middle of January)
My advice is to always get a hopper and if MK gets too crowded, go to Epcot.

I would think that also depends on what month you're visiting WDW. Of course, if you're going during the summer months, the actual holiday season from Christmas to New Years Day/Weekend/Week or Thanksgiving break, it will be packed no matter what day of the week you visit! And keep in mind about federal holidays and the long breaks, if applicable as well as some major religious holidays that schools observe by closing their schools. (i.e Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah). So if you have specific month in mind, that would be helpful in answering your question.

I would say (as a rule of thumb, at least in my observations): Friday through Monday are the heaviest, Tuesday through Thursday the lightest.

I would say probably Friday-Monday are busy days for MK with Tues-Thurs being a little bit lighter on crowds. I read somewhere that Monday is the worst day to go, but my personal opinion would be that Saturday is the worst day to go.

Excellent, we plan on being in the MK on Monday and Friday. Figures. I am sure that Tuesday and Thursday are the busiest for Epcot and Wednesday for AK.

Saturday before the Marathon is busy at MK...but surprisingly, we've found Sunday pretty quiet in all the parks...the week following the Marathon is nice too.

I imagine it's quiet in the parks, how is it getting to the parks? The only time I've been there for the marathon is to run it and I've seen some traffic build ups.

I left for the marathon with my husband, in the wee hours, because he was running. When he completed the race, we took the bus back to the hotel and he got ready for the park. We took the resort bus to whichever park, we were going to that day...varied from year to year...never had a problem with traffic.

When is Magic Kingdom NOT crowded? The only true way for me to enjoy and appreciate the MK is very early in the morning or at night when everyone is distracted by the fireworks and the parades.
