We used the QS dining plan last year when we went. It was our first time using it, as we usually go with the regular dining plan (1-TS, 1-QS, 1-Snack), and so we were concerned that on the QS plan we wouldn't be happy. However, this was not the case. There were 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 young teens, and we had plenty of food to eat. The hard part was snacking. Because we're used to eating TS a lot, we haven't snacked a lot in the past. This actually came in quite handy when we went to Epcot for the Food & Wine fest, and used up almost all of our snack credits in one day.

We did choose to do one meal out of pocket, but we wound up regretting it. We went to Ohana for breakfast because of the characters. The experience with the characters was fun, but the food was quite lacking considering the cost. The kicker was two days later when we had breakfast downstairs at Captain Cook's. We got the SAME EXACT MEAL that we had upstairs at Ohana.

One other note. When we had breakfasts using the QS, it came with 2 drinks. So, we had an extra for later.

Overall, we were pleased with the QS plan, and will likely use it again. However, I would urge you to think ahead and plan your meals carefully. There are some really good QS meals at WDW, then some that are not so good. If you're interested, I'll share some of our better finds.

I wish breakfast still included the juice....oh well

Awesome! We've stayed at POP many times and love it. They have a pretty decent food court of their own. If I remember, one of the restaraunts there in it has a pretty good mediterranean flat bread that's very good.

I wasn't aware that they cut juice from the breakfast, that's news to me.

Some of our favorite QS meals are:
MK - Pecos Bill, Columbia Harbor House
Epcot - Sunshine Season
DHS - Starring Rolls Cafe
AK - Flametree BBQ

We also like to get away from the parks sometimes to go have a quiet meal. One of the best finds we discovered on our last trip was Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a really good Chicken Flatbread.

At Downtown Disney we did Wolfgang Puck Express. The food was good, but probably not as good as we expected, due to the name. Still, it's a good value for QS. Also, I really liked Earl of Sandwich, but my wife thought it was just a typical sandwich place.

Like I said before, we're not big snack eaters, but there are a few that we seem to have as our "musts". One is the Dole Whip in MK at Aloha Isle. Another favorite is the sweet pretzel at Kringla Bakery in Norway at Epcot.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Snacks generally include frozen ice-cream novelty (Mickey Bar, Dole Whip), popsicle, or fruit bar, popcorn scoop, single piece of whole fruit, single serving grab bag of chips, 20 oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani Water, medium fountain soft drink or juice, 12 oz. coffee, hot chocolate, or hot tea. If you're unsure, just look on the menu board for the purple and white DDP logo, it's like a little square icon usually next to the price.

The DDP (QS) is attached/assigned to your Key to the World card. So, it's very easy to use. In fact, most of the time, this is all we carry to the parks when we leave the room.

Correct, they can't give you a credit for things you choose not use. It's interesting and odd though. We've had some CMs insist that we must take all of the options available though or else they would have to toss it out. If nothing else, you might choose to share a meal if you think it will be too much. Then, one of you could just use a snack option to get something else.

We did the free quickservice in November '09 whe we stayed at Pop Century. 1 adult and 2 16 year olds. It comes with the refillable mugs the 2 meals a day and 2 snacks a day. The snacks were great during the food and wine and saved a lot of money. The samples at food and wine can be expensive $5-6 each and the snack credit covers this. You will be surprised at the number of snacks included. There is a list floating around online that lists all the snacks and various locations throughout the world. You don't just have to get snacks at the carts. I also never used my meal credits for breakfast because I usually bring breakfast food with me and use the toaster/microwave at my resort in the food court. I always got a drink with my meal (even at Pop Century when I had the refillable mug) and made sure it was a bottle of something (not fountain drink) to save for later. One time the thee of use ate lunch at Pop Century and all of use got Vitamin water for later and used our refillable drinks with our lunch. You can usually find cookies for dessert that we almost always saved and ate for a snack later. I will say that if you are an annual pass holder is is not worth it for the free food plan because you have to buy a magic your way ticket. I am going to WDW next week and I did not get the free food plan because I already have tickets. When I went is Nov I didn't have tickets so it was maybe financially worth it. I also got a nice 8x10 picture of my choice with the package. I think the value of "free dining" can be debated. This trip I got the room discount Pop Century $64.98 per night and then we are going to the AK lodge for about $150 night. Good luck and enjoy!

Snacks:
Mrs.Potts-Brownie sunday, large soft serve & Sundays
MK Ice Cream shop- Large ice cream cup or cone
MK confectionary- Choc. covered strawberries
France Epcot -Crepes & Ice cream
Epcot the Land- My personal favorite and best bet for your money. Anything at the bakery ie: Key lime Pie,

Meals:
The Land- Seared Tuna on lettuce (excellent)$9.59, bottle water, Key lime pie
The Land- Boxed sushi (in the case)
Morroco- Slider lunch $13.99 (lamb, chicken, falafael) w/side item, drinks, baclava

We just recently had to reschedule our Sept '10 trip to Sept '11. We had a bounceback offer in our room in 2009 and were able to get the regular dining plan at Pop Century. If we don't have the free dining next year (or if's it the quick service plan) it's good to know other people have used it and enjoy it. We've even talked about purchasing it if the free dining promotion isn't offered next year. We just like knowing everything is taken care of in advance. There are so many more options available other that just burgers, chicken nuggets & pizza!!!

I have never used the QS dining plan, but I have booked it for many people and most times the guests return and complain it was difficult to use all of the credits. You should have no problem staying full.

Here are a few pointers:

1. Try using a snack for breakfast rather than a meal. Most resorts will have things like yogurt parfaits that can be purchased as a snack, but work as a meal.

2. The list of snacks is too long to even get into. Just about anything under 4 or 5 dollars can count as a snack. Just ask a CM they will let you know.

3. If you have meal credits leftover get them converted to snacks and use them on prepackaged foods.

4. On your last days use your leftover snack credits on prepackaged foods for the plane trip or back home.

5. Go to the Earl of Sandwich and get sandwiches to go for the trip home to use up leftover meal credits.

6. Revue the menus of the QS restaurants on-line before you go so you can find a variety of things to enjoy.

7. Goofy's Candy Company at DTD is a great place to use snack credits. One of my clients used several credits to buy a series of Pez dispensers to bring back for co-workers.

8. Many QS restaurants will have pre-packaged to-go versions of their deserts that you can take and eat later if the portions are too big.

There are upsides and downsides to all the dining plans, but if you are smart about it and use your credits wisely you can save a little money, experience a wide variety of great food, and enjoy the convenience of having everything prepaid.

We also used the QS dining on a stay at Pop and had no problems. Each park has at least one location where you can get something other than burgers and fries. You can ask about changing desserts ...many times I opted for the fruit or yogurt instead of the choc. cake, carrot cake or sugar free brownie that most locations offer. If you do any meals at Pop take your mug with you and save your bottled bev. for later.

I agree that Seasons at the Land offers the best selections...plus you have the best dessert options available here. Although we had lots of good meals at Pop as well.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

I've never used the Quick Service plan, but it is on your room key/park ticket, so no need for another card.

As for suggestions, I would suggest not doing a CS breakfast and instead just use your snack credit to get some kind of pastry. Main Street Bakery in MK, Kusafiri Bakery in AK, and I think Norway and France in EPCOT all have really good pastry selections and are big enough to tide you over at least until lunch.

You may be inticed by breakfast or some other extra meal on one of your days, so I would say be prepared to pay out of pocket for a meal maybe once or twice. Some of their breakfast food at the resort is inticing, and I do usually end up paying for it once or twice, but most of the time we stick to Snacks or character breakfasts. Same thing goes for any kind of drinks you buy in the parks, you may want to be prepared to buy them out of pocket as well.

Chance are you're going to have some snack credits left over, to use them up, remember that you can buy Goofy Candy Co. bags of stuff either in the Lobby of POP or at Downtown Disney, as well as many places in the parks. Just remember to get them before your last night/day there is over.
