Quick question about the buses.....

I am going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge come February. I heard before about the buses taking a little longer, this does not bother me the least bit and I don't mind that. My question comes with getting around at night. I would love to get to the Boardwalk at night and go to the bars, however, I am not sure they provide buses for this. I know there is a Downtown Disney bus which I am assuming (and hoping) runs till it closes. Can anyone clear up the situation for me? Will I have to cab it or just hop buses? Thanks!

There are no buses from a resort to another resort. To get to the Boardwalk, you'd have to take a bus from AKL to DHS or Epcot, then walk or boat to the BW. On the way back, if one of the parks (or DTD) are still open you could get the bus to a park (or DTD) then a bus back to AKL. The quicker and easier option would be to get a cab back to AKL.

lilclerk is correct. There are no buses running to between resorts. In the case of the Boardwalk taking a bus to DHS and walking over is your best bet. However, if you stay at the Boardwalk past the time that the DHS buses are running I would opt for a cab over the DTD bus. The DTD bus routes are notoriously long and you could easily be looking at one to two hours to go from the Boardwalk to AKL via DTD. A cab will get you there in 10 minutes and will be less than $10.

Just to clarify. If you were to take the bus from AKL to EPCOT, to get to BW you have to walk through EPCOT (in the front, and out the International Gateway)

This will require a park admission. If you have a hopper or AP, then no problem. But if you are on a base ticket, it could be an issue.
