I felt the same way when I saw the Disney Wishes wedding prices. I opted for a Disney themed at home wedding, which was just as wonderful! There's so much you can do, and Disney was even very helpful with most of it (invitations, programs, napkins, cake topper, etc.)

Yup thats what we did, did our own little Wedding at our church just purchased what Disney items DW wanted and saved a bundle and had a GREAT ceremony and our family did not have to make the drive/fly to Florida:wave:
Its possible you can do it, EBAY and Disney will help you do it.

Can you still get married in front of the castle? Because I see $25,000 for Swan Boat Landing, but that isnt like RIGHT in front of the castle right? And can you even walk under the castle anymore? I remembered you could back in the day, but I havent tried to in a long time and it looks like they redid it...

From what I've been told they will do it anywhere for the right price... Since the most mainstream of Wishes Weddings request a minimum expenditure around $25k in the MK, I can't imagine what the "right price" would be for the castle!

We're opting for the Great Movie Ride and I'm psyched.

thanks for the info n that would b pretty cool.

I think it would b even better for a proposal, after the 'bad guy' gets turned to skull and crossbones by the stone, who emerges but ur b/f 2 run over 2 the tram, with ring in hand to propose.

I don't remember where I heard this or know if it is correct but at one point I heard that the in front of the castle rental (location only, none of the other stuff you need for the wedding) was $50,000.

Info from someone who is currently planning her WDW wedding (July 2009) - they don't allow you to get married in front of the castle anymore. If you insist on getting a quote, it's somewhere around $500K and can only happen at very limited times of the year, when the park closes for all guests around 7:00 PM. They're basically trying every means possible to discourage you from doing so...

As for the $6,000 wedding, the answer is a resounding no. The Wishes wedding minimums posted above by MontyMon are only the beginning - there are also venue minimums per person as well.

But, if you were willing to have fewer than 20 people (including bride and groom), it would be possible to do it for under $6,000.

What if they dont close the park? I mean I dont think it would be half bad to watch a wedding in front of the castle, I mean at least you know when your running down the steps to go into the carriage there is going to be resounding applause. Plus if a wedding was going down in front of the castle, I'd watch it (even if I didn't know anyone) b/c a disney wedding, thats just cool!

A wedding is a "special event" and since it's not in complete Disney control, they make special events take place after guests are out of the parks - to preserve the magic.

They don't make the rules to protect you, or to even make your real wish come true - they do whatever it takes to keep the story on stage from being blemished. They also don't want every bride-to-be seeing one happening and flood them with requests.

There are plenty of other magical ways to make your wedding magical - AND keep the budget magical too :sohappy:

I am having my wedding at Disney on March 12th. We are having 20 people at the wedding pavillion and its $5500.00. We are also doing the Magic Kingdom photo shoot and adding on Epcot for $1300.00. I am afraid there is no way to do a wedding for 50-75 people for $6000.00. For that many you would do a wishes wedding and need to spend a minimum of $10,000.00. That would includes your hotel stay and the venue, photo etc goins toward the minimum. Sorry. A Disney wedding at home and a honeymoon at Disney World is still a great option. Good Luck!!:)
