I'm interested in the Disney college program and have some questions for alumni!

1. Did you go to Disney world or land?
2. Is everybody housed with a roommate or do you get your own room?
3. Is it hard to consider Disney world "magical" after seeing everything behind the scenes?
4. Did you ever get tired of working there or wish you had not done the program?
5. Did you have a relationship with someone before entering the program? If so, how did the program affect your relationship(besides the distance?)

I can answer a few of the questions on behalf of my DS who had the time of his life in the CP.
He went to DW. He had 6 roomies in 3 bedrooms (more now per rooms as I am understanding)
It depending on where you are assigned. My DS was never in a park or with the public and received a plum position so the parks and resorts were always as fresh as a guest. Care given to you selections of roles is important.
While he didn't leave one behind, he did meet someone he cared a great deal about down there. When they both returned to polish off their degrees in their own states the distance was too much to overcome given their abilities to travel, money, school etc. Safeguard your heart with obvious temp releationaships would be my recommendation unless you are ending college going into the program.

I as a Mom cannot recommend the program enough. I sent away a kid and returned to me was a man. The experience the good and the bad was an amazing experience for him. He after time went back to work for the Mouse Corporation again not directly with the public but is very happy with the outcome and experience.

My Edit: The pay is really awful. I supplemented his pay as I had while he was at his University so he could experience the perks of the CP. Going into the program with some back up funds will make all the difference in you off time.

1. Did you go to Disney world or land? Walt Disney World (Fall 2007)
2. Is everybody housed with a roommate or do you get your own room? I did the roommate matching program, so I knew at least who I was sharing a bedroom with. We ended up getting a 1-bedroom at Chatham Square.
3. Is it hard to consider Disney world "magical" after seeing everything behind the scenes? Kind of - but it doesn't bother me, really. I still enjoy going to Disney (and I visit pretty often!).
4. Did you ever get tired of working there or wish you had not done the program? I may have gotten a little tired towards the end of my program, but I DEFINITELY do not regret it, at all. I became seasonal afterwards and, for a while, quite possibly loved the job more as a seasonal CM than when I was a CP. Also I think it had to do with the fact that I was in a very stressful full-time job at the same time, and my Disney job was the "fun" job. It made me appreciate being a cast member because there are less-enjoyable jobs out there.
5. Did you have a relationship with someone before entering the program? If so, how did the program affect your relationship(besides the distance?) I was not in a relationship before I entered the program.
