Questions around 2BR lockoffs

Hey friends! I tried to do a bit of research to no prevail. Two part question:

1. Anyone have a clue which resorts offer a 2BR in the form of a 1BR + Studio lockoff?
2. Is it possible to only reserve a lock off and not just have it be a room request?

Never booked a deluxe before so apologies for the noob questions. We are going with my in-laws and currently we have two separate rooms booked at POR and looking into splitting a 2BR villa instead. However, they prefer warmer temps in their rooms (75-77 degrees) and I will die sleeping in that (68 or lower gang!). A lock-off I would think solves the problem with multiple thermostats. Unless the windows open up? We are going in December so that should cool our room enough.

TIA and have a great Saturday!

I believe all the DVC resorts have two bedroom lock offs as a room option, pending availability. We stayed in one at Old Key West in 2016 when all of us came for one visit.

Got it. But it's an 'option' via room request and you cant guarantee yourself a lock off?

It's my understanding that all two bedrooms are lock offs. You shouldn't need to make a request.
Do you mean at OKW specifically? DVC resorts commonly have both lock-offs and dedicated 2BR. We’ve stayed in both at Kidani and SSR. I believe the allears site lists which resorts have lock-offs available.

Thanks for clarifying. I think I was getting the two types confused!

Lock-off 2-beds are a 1-bedroom next to a studio with the connecting door left unlocked. A dedicated 2-bed is one unit.

In some resorts all the 2-beds are indeed lock-offs, but I think that’s just BWV and AKV Jambo.

If you book a 2-bedroom villa direct through Disney, which is what I think @Schweino is meaning, then that is always a dedicated 2-bedroom. If you want a lock-off then you would need to request that.

Figure I would come back and state that BC, BW and AK-Jambo are the three that are exclusively 2BR lockoff. Thanks again all!
