Questions about the Holidays

After two summer trips, we have decided to plunge in and try a trip at New Year's:sohappy:! We will be there from Dec 27th to January 5th, and I have a few questions for those who have experienced Disney during the Holidays...

1) Do anyone know if the stores at Downtown Disney will be open on New Year's Day? I was thinking that a nice relaxing day shopping would be good after a late night at the parks for New Year's Eve.

2) Does anyone know if the Hoop De Doo runs on New's Year's Day?

3) What is the weather usually like at this time of the year?

Everything, including the Downtown Disney shops and the Hoop De Doo are open every day of the year.

The Christmas to New Year's timeframe is the single busiest two weeks of the entire year. While there are plenty of good reasons to go during that period, a "relaxing" anything isn't likely to happen.
