Question

We are staying off site in June, but want to tour some of the resorts.. What's the best way to get around to them.

Our list as of now is:

Pop Century
Art of Animation
Allstar Movies

And we just have to tell the guard that we are just looking around, and they'll give us a pass correct?

Or, you could park at DD and ride a bus to the resort and back. Or, you could catch a bus from any park to those resorts and then back to the park.

No. I believe the only way you can get on resort property is a) showing your reservation information for that resort to the guard at the entrance or b) hop on a Disney resort bus of your choice at DTD and go from there.
That's what I thought and put on here a while back, but several people said that's not the case. You simply tell them you want to look around.

I think we are doing resorts the day we leave so no parks, so it'll probably be easier just to drive to each resort right? And isn't POP and AOA connected by a bridge or something?

If you have your own car you will just need to show ID and tell the guard that you are staying off property on this trip and want to check out a few resorts for your next trip. 99 times out of 100, they will let you in especially since you are just going to value resorts. If you hit that 1 out of 100, make your way to DTD and take a bus from there.

Also just FYI, but you can walk from Pop to AoA so just go to Pop and walk to AoA from there. AoA gets a lot of lookey loos so the guard might turn you away if you try to go in that way.

Sorry, this is wrong, but I'm sure unintentionally wrong. We park hop every trip. You are welcome at every resort. There are restaurants and shops there to enjoy and some of the best promotion for future stays is to see what is there. If driving, just tell the gate attendant you would like to visit. They will request a picture ID and direct you where to park. Some people try to take advantage of this and try to park at the Contemporary or Boardwalk and walk to MK or Epcot, so we just visit them in the evenings. In 30 years of park hopping, we have never been unwelcome at any resort and we have visited and eaten at all of them.

You could park by the Cars suites and see the cars and nemo stuff, then move the car to the Mermaid rooms and see those and Lion King, then walk back through Mermaid to the bridge.

I’ve had success at just telling the guard I wanted to checkout the resort and
they’ve welcomed me and waved me in. Poly is the only one that actually
gave me a parking pass.

Well thanks for clearing that up. That's why I said in my statement "I believe" because I wasn't for sure.

Actually.......there are times when she would be correct, but they are rare and typically on holidays. It is not uncommon for the monorail and Epcot resorts to be closed to guests arriving in cars that are not staying or have a dining reservation at. The most common time you will see this is on 4th of July, NYE, Christmas etc.

Thank you...I have never been during those times, but that makes sense.

I've just driven up and said I'm going in to eat and they let me right in. I was going to eat so I wasn't lying. But I have just asked if we can check out the resort and they said yes. Never had a problem on any of the numerous occasions.

The only time I have ever had any problems was my last trip in mid December due to the Christmas events and that was only at GF and CR. They would only let you park if you had a dining reservation and they looked on the list to verify you were really to be there. Other than that no other problems and I've been at all except OKW and CSR. You should be fine. If not, hop a bus or monorail. Enjoy!
