Question: Wishes cruise

I was not able to secure the Illuminations cruise, but I did get the Wishes cruise for my next trip. Has anyone done this, and what did you think? WDW says that the boat parks right next to the Grand one.

My boat will come from the WL and picking up my party at the poly(we are having dinner at Ohana'a).

Is it worth it? Or should I hope that someone cancels the Illuminations cruise????? :brick:

Keep trying for the Illumination cruise if that is what you really want. Cancellations must be done 48 hours prior, so I would call up until that morning.
With the Wishes cruise you get a guided tour of Bay lake and a wonderful view of the fireworks. Many people do feel that it is worth the money. I for one did this a few years back with friends and we loved it. It was very relaxing and we brought snacks and drinks onboard for the cruise.

It lasts for 1 hour.

Have fun!

I was also watching this thread for an answer. Thanks, Pam! I was wondering if they allowed for food and drinks to be brought on board. They charge so much extra money to do it for you. DH and I booked one departing from the GF and were thinking about picking up a sandwich and drink from there to take with us, but didn't know if it was ok.

I know that when I went on the cruise we were allowed to bring food onboard. I know that with the Illuminations cruises, you cannot do that. Please ask when making your reservations if it is allowed just to be on the safe side in case they changed their policy.

Are the prices for the cruises the same?

I never bothered to inquire about the MK cruise as I always felt you can just go to the Grand Floridian pier or Poly beach and watch the show. But I guess being on a boat adds to the experience?

Pam, what did you think of the viewing area for the Illuminations cruise? I've seen the boats parked under or near the bridge for the International Gateway and thought "wow, I can see the show much better in WS Plaza or Italy.

Thanks :)

Well, I haven't any first hand experience yet, but we've booked the Wishes cruise for our trip at the end of September for my daughter's birthday. Apparently they're going to have cake and drinks and decorations for us. I am so excited!! I'll let you know how it goes... if you can wait 2 months.

It is a partial view from under the bridge as far as I am concerned you can definately see it better at other places around world showcase. They are the same price for the basic cruise.

Thanks Pam!! I knew someone out there had an answer!! I am still up in the air about this. I was told that no food was allowed on the boat. I have been told that the panormic view was excellent and not a view that you can get in the park.

Wishes Cruise

The boat is out on the lake, so you are far enough out that you cannot hear the music. My understanding is that you cannot bring food on board (I also asked when I booked for 11/1). We have already done this cruise and while we thought it was nice, it isn't something I would want to do again. We were hoping for the Illuminations one, got shut out, but the kids were disappointed and we reserved the Wishes cruise. If you cannot get a cancellation for Illuminations and are set on a cruise, then book the Wishes cruise.

Well, that's disappointing about the music!! I'm sure you are right about food, but we are apparently getting a cake and some drinks because we booked it for a surprise for my daughter's birthday. (I say *apparently* because my mother in law booked everything.) We're going in 13 days (weather permitting!) *crosses fingers*
