Question regarding rooms at Pop

Hi all, I just spoke to Tammy from Kingdom Konsultants (who has done and awesome job btw!) and we are leaving in 12 days! Anyways, she was speaking to someone I guess at POP and they told her that we are in the 60's. Do they know in advance of check in where you'll be staying?

Some buildings are 'preferred' locations. So if you have a preferred reservation maybe they know already?
The time that we stayed at Pop Century, because POR was full, we got a preferred location reservation.
We stayed in the '60's and had a nice room overlooking the lake and the Legendary Years attraction.

Only 50% of the "Preferred" rooms at Pop are located in the 60's buildings. The other 50% are split among the 70's buildings (Bldgs 6 & 10) and 50's A and C buildings (Bldgs 1 & 3). So just going by a random selection, you have a 50/50 chance at being in the 60's section.

But, 12 days out seems too far for the front desk at the hotel to have already assigned your room. Room assignments happen less than a week before the check-in date, usually 3-5 days beforehand.
So I'm not sure who your travel agent spoke to that confirmed you were in the 60's section. Perhaps they were just confirming (or mis-interpreting) a room-location request that was listed on your reservation?

We just got back last Monday from staying at POP, our daughter was down there for her softball world series at the Wide World of Sports. Our room was in the 60's building closest to the pool and main building. Best location IMO. We only had a few steps to the lobby/restaurant/shop/buses. We have stayed at the campground, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the GF. The POP was a fun place, room was a little small, but for the price, you can't beat it. I would ask for the 60's when you check in (if you are not already in it). Have fun, and check out all the other buildings if you have time. I am available to go along as a tour guide!!!:ROFLOL:
