Question on Hotel Deposit and Balance with Discounts?

Say if I make a hotel reservation now, and I discount on rooms comes out say August, like up to 30% off on rooms with tickets package or room only will I still be able to apply that discount in August for a November trip if I make the ressie now?

Yes you can always change packages as long as the room u r in counts for the discount! There is a small chance u might have to change to a new resort, but if u get your changes done ASAP when the discount come out, you should be ok!

As long as the discount is available for the exact dates and room type that you've booked, yes, you can call and have them apply the discount. They can also change your reservation if you are willing to change room categories (different view, for example) to get the discount.

The one issue would be if you're changing reservation type (room-only to package, or vice versa). In those instances you'll have to cancel and re-book.

Yup we always book as soon as we know we are going. We are always hopeful for a discount, so when they do release them, our TA applies it to our ressie if it applies to our stay and package.

Booked a room-only for this summer back in December. Summer discounts released just a couple of weeks ago. Changed my room-only to MYW. Disney canceled my room-only, and charged $200 deposit for the new MYW package. My room-only one night deposit was credited a few days later. Your ADRs carry over too.

I've done it several times. I do always call (and wait on hold forever) on the day the discount is announced so that I can get one of the discount rooms. I imagine if you wait a while, there is a chance your hotel could be sold out of discounted rooms.

We do it every time. No problems! Even had a discount applied after we paid the account in full. Disney refunded the difference back to my credit card.

I've done it a number of times. The only issues I've had concern the Disney Visa. I don't always put my initial deposit on my Disney Visa, but I like getting that 2 day edge on typical discounts where it's opened to cardholders first... so I usually wind up having to put the equivalent of a 1 night deposit down via my Disney Visa in addition to what I've already paid just so I can get the discount when it's only open to cardholders.

We do this every trip. Right now we're booked Nov 9-21 and waiting for the discounts, either Free Dining or a 25% discount. We just call and apply whatever discount is offered.
